Really? I always hear about how beautiful and elegant French women are.

if one likes hair in arm pits, they are great!

This isn't really true anymore. Most French women- at least the ones I've seen in France - shave armpits and legs.

But it's true that there's a place in France where the ladies wear no pants.

That sounds gorgeous! I hope you have a great time! :) Lucky! Don't forget to think of us poor sops sitting here in the crappy weather! Lol!

Thanks, Chris. I hear ya. My wife was stuck in Ohio during the Arctic blast past couple of weeks. It was colder there than in the Antarctica. She said it was miserable. Texas has seen its share of really cold weather, too. As far south as we are, it was still really cold for us. Even getting scattered snowflakes are rare. Now we do get icy on occasions.

Maybe I can transport pictures of the trip as we go along. We'll see. I haven't really checked out the Internet access in those areas. But chances are I won't even think about the Net for a few weeks. More than likely l'll have to try to post some pics after the trip. I'm a picture taking nut on trips.

Yes, it was freezing cold here too. It's actually quite warm today, like 35 or 40. Lol!

Oh that would be wonderful. I'd love to see pictures of your trip! :)

Now that sounds like a trip we would like to go on. Warm weather and beaches.

Needless to say, I'm pretty excited. It's been in the 90s this month in Buenos Aries, but it will cool down in Feb. I don't think we'll be getting in the water anyplace, but it'll be nice exploring weather.

there are places here like that, they call them gentlemens' clubs

70 and sunny here.

That sounds heavenly! :) At least all the snow is gone here now. It rained like crazy all day yesterday.

I understand your excitement. We have been talking about a trip to St Thomas for a while. While not nearly as exotic as your trip it would be a nice change for us.

My nephew was in Buenos Aires a year ago. He said it was one of the best cities he's ever traveled to.

I was considering a trip there, but one side trip I wanted to hit was Iguazu Falls, which is supposed to be incredibly beautiful. If you have an extra day, or inclination to go North in Argentina, I've heard it's highly recommended.

That is the wildest place to drive. It scared me to death and I'm not too freaked about driving in rough areas. The island is nearly all mountain. But they drive on the left hand side of the road...WITH american cars...if you can mentally see the problem with that.

The cabbies...well, take a bunch of Valium on cab rides... You'll like it. Go out on a small sailboat that accommodates like 8 people and snorkel at different island stops.

That's good. No more shoveling! :)

It's really not the shoveling itself that bothers me so much, as it is all of the extra things you have to do just to get out of your house! Extra clothing, shoveling, warming up the car for at least 20 minutes if you want to be warm, having to drive in the snow and deal with other drivers in the snow, etc.

We're considering that. It's 3 times the size of Niagara Falls. We have to fly there from BA. There is a lay over about an hour and half out...then a bit more travel time by air and land. The Sheraton Hotel has a place about 15 mins from the falls.

Oh wow didn't know that. That will def screw me up. Def take your advice and check out the sailboat and snorkeling. Thanks for the tip.

I hear you. I have a hard enough time just scraping all the ice off my car windows on especially cold mornings.

I should really buy a dedicated scraper, but it honestly happens so rarely that I usually forget. As such, I generally wind up having to use something silly like an old CD case.

We don't normally travel in Feb or early March. So we wanted to go to some place that we haven't been that's warm. We seriously considered going to head to the south pacific and start out in Bora Bora and hit a couple other French Polynesian islands. But we found out that it's typhoon season and it rains in feet, not inches. So obviously that wouldn't be prudent.

That's some pretty sound reasoning for a trip.

We did the South Pacific deal a few years ago and spent some time on Easter Island in December. The weather was pretty decent, and it was nice being in a summer location during our winter.

Tierra del Fuego is something that's on our short list, kind of in the same area that you're heading to.

I'd definitely like to know how the trip goes.

Yep, she has a gift for languages. I took two years of Spanish in college. $10,000 and two years later all I could say is "Taco Bell".

Yea, I'm kind of in the same situation. My wife speaks a few different languages, which has enabled me to be lazy and just let her do the talking/ reading when we travel. As handy as it is, I think it's probably handicapped me a bit.

Yea, that's a pretty remote area.

Though we had pretty incredible internet connectivity while we were on Easter Island. I don't think that there's anywhere outside of the realm of wifi anymore, but mostly it depends upon the type of visitors. More remote areas honestly attract people who tend to be wealthier (eco tourists), which coincidentally tend to also be more connected (digitally speaking).

We were just in Monument Valley and northern Arizona/ New Mexico a few weeks ago and had trouble using any sort of internet connect.

Anyway, good luck with the trip. Sounds like a great destination.

You'd probably save some time if you had a scraper. It's much more efficient than a CD case.

No way!

I always thought Smash Mouth's Greatest Hits worked so well! :lamo

Approximately how often do you even have to scrape your windshield?

This winter so far? Three times.

Don't look at me like that.

It was really hard, damnit! It was cold and wet and I could see my breath and everything! :(
