Crowded? It's 2 million people. Then again, I see you're from Charleston, so I'm guessing even a place like Albuquerque may seem crowded to you. The only thing I'd agree with is that it's expensive. Definitely not for the cheap traveler.

I'm from Orlando originally. Orlando, however; is more spread out. Everything in Paris is piled on top itself, and the traffic is, quite frankly, insane.

Between the dirt and the trash, it was also probably the dirtiest city I've ever been in. It gave even New Orleans a run for the money in that regard.

Paris might not be especially bad in comparison to someplace like New York City, but I've frankly never been there anyway.

I've never been to any southern states. I have no idea how hot it is. I know here in the summer in MA, we flock to the beaches because it's always 10 degrees cooler on the coast than inland. I was kind of surprised that Corpus Christi was SO hot because it's a coastal city.
Well when you have a sea breeze, you get lucky. I live 5 miles inland and get a sea breeze from time to time. It's brutal when there's no sea breeze, though.

I was there during the millennium new years (you want to talk about inflated prices?), so maybe they were maintaining it better, but I didn't notice any issues with trash

Would I go for a free trip to Paris? Sure!

I know a few very nice Texans I would like to visit.

Re: Would You Take a Free Trip to Paris?

Am I the only one on DP who actually DID win a free trip to Paris? Actually, it was better than free - I got paid to go. For work.

I had a medical conference there a few years ago, was sent courtesy of my employers at the Wonder Drug Factory, and was able to take a few days after to see the city more in depth. A great city for walking - as good as New York. I probably walked 10 miles per day (fueled by cafe au lait, crossaints and eclairs, of course).

What a fantastic place. Its no more expensive than any other large cities to travel in, has a great public transportation system, and I've always found the reports of the French as rude to be way overblown. In my mind, its probably in the top 10 in cities to visit in the world.
Many Trump supporters have lots of problems, and those deplorables are bringing those problems to us. They’re racists. They’re misogynists. They’re islamophobic. They're xenophobes and homophobes. And some, I assume, are good people.

Not really, I'm not big on travel, simply for the sake of travel and I've been to Paris anyhow.
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide the world that cannot be achieved more rationally through entirely secular means.

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I think a trip to Pyongyang would be awesome.

PS though it's winter there right now, I believe
