There were a few chips in the pile, but this is probably one of those "camel's back"-breaking straws.

As for voters short memories, I don't think one could point to a better example than the drastic swings in polling data we've witnessed during and immediately after the recent federal shutdown. The doom and gloom predictions that were made during lasted all of a few weeks. An individual with Christie's clout should overcome this with ease, barring significant and new discoveries as to his direct involvement.
I'm not sure you can compare voters' attention span re the federal shutdown to a juicy, personal-character dramarama.

Perhaps Clinton would be a more relevant comparison. Regardless, unless Christie is shown to have had direct involvement in the affair, I predict this to be a non-issue in the long run.

    I Don't Know

It's certainly a bump in the road, but I am inclined to believe that the big guy can put this behind him.

I won't believe that he's done until he says that he's done.

I have been out of the media loop, but aside from the one connected death, I don't know if this has staying power. Christie has to have direct knowledge, and the story has to be sexy enough.

Was Christie ever really a real candidate? Most conservatives I know of see his as too liberal.[

Christie was superb today: honest, forthright and accountable. I will support him for POTUS in 2016.

Who does the GOP have that can beat her?

    Other than maybe Christie.
