Might be true. It also might be yet another of the myriad manipulative ploys that have served him so well over the decades. Since his own lawyers don't know anything at all about multiple life-threatening conditions he may be suffering, my money is on the latter option.

Frankly, I don't care. He deserves to be in prison for the rest of his life as far as I'm concerned, whether that life ends in a few months or another decade. Scum of the earth, that man.

Plus I'd propose him and any other convicted of capital crimes to get the death penalty
He wasn't convicted of a capital crime.

The pigs were lying.

The lead detective was convicted of perjury.

From the Daily Mail, and you'll appreciate how much the self-centered OJ has grown over the years:

The Enquirer reports that Simpson has finally agreed to the tests and is convinced he hasn't got long to live, telling a friend, 'I feel the end coming. But I don't want to die in prison like common jailhouse scum.'

The publication reports he has even begged President Obama for a pardon so he can die comfortably at home.

I know OJ was not, the him was not OJ it was the fake murderer who murdered my family in the scenario given

Well.....I could see if they had hooked him up for the Murders he got away with, then I could definitely say no. But for the crimes he was convicted of.....I don't recall anything being over violence. Other than the usual he said and then the other said.

If Simpson wouldn't have been involved in the murder case.....would any then have a problem with him being released. Would he even been convicted in this Las Vegas incident over his memorabilia?

O.J. Simpson currently is overweight, severe diabetic and claims he has brain cancer. He's petitioning President Obama for a pardon to die in peace at home.

He looks pretty awful, and it's hard to forget his former NFL career and contribution.

I voted "yes". But I'm really conflicted about it. I think it's important we don't punish him for murder since he was found not guilty.

I guess I'd change my vote if I could. I think he should probably be allowed to die at home, depending on his brain cancer diagnosis. However, I don't think he should be pardoned.

Where is there a photo of him looking awful? The photo at the link doesn't reflect what you're saying. He doesn't "look awful". He looks overweight and didn't bother buying hair dye in the commissary.

Heya Maggie. :2wave: They don't allow Hair Dyes in Prison.

I don't see why any one convict should have exceptions made for him. If the policy becomes releasing all terminal convicts to die at home, that would be different.

First, it is the Enquirer, not exactly the most reliable newspaper. Second, I thought he was in jail for a state matter, not Obama's call. Third, he is common jailhouse scum.

I think you followed your heart when your mind couldn't find a reason to keep him incarcerated. When in doubt I always lean towards compassion. Even justice is tempered with mercy. The purpose of the penal system isn't just to punish but it's to correct behavior thru rehabilitation, keep a menace away from society and teach a lesson.

Looking awful is probably subjective but he appears to be from his eyes slightly brain damaged. I've worked around a lot of people in clinical settings that have that same blank, wide eyed gaze. You've got to admit these two photos are dramatically different, even for the age comparison?

I think he's mental. First the president cannot pardon him. He's in jail under Nevada state law, not federal law. Only the governor or possibly a Nevada clemency board of some type can.

Secondly, I haven't heard any coraboating support for his brain tumor claim such as an official legal motion requesting some sort of medical consideration. Btw, his defense attorney in the criminal case, Johnny Cochran did die of a brain tumor. I think its some sort of weird psychological thing he's dealing with. Just my opinion.

O.J. Simpson 'is undergoing tests for BRAIN CANCER

NO

the brain tumor has not been affirmatively diagnosed

he admits this: "'O.J. says his memory is slipping and he gets painful headaches and other symptoms,' a source told The Enquirer, listing blurry vision, occasional stuttering and hearing problems as other concerns. He also at times feels confused and has unusual bursts of anger and fits of depression." [emphasis added by bubba]

and there is this: "'But OJ doesn't care. He knows he's never going to get out of prison, so he refuses to take care of himself.'" [emphasis added by bubba]

oj, you will receive appropriate medical treatment while in prison. now shut the **** up and do the time you earned for yourself

Heya Sméagol. :2wave: Are you sure on that and what he can Pardon? Anyone! ;)

Presidential Pardons: Legal Guidelines

While Article II, Section 2 of the Constitution places no limitations on the president's power to grant or deny pardons, the Justice Department's U.S. Pardon Attorney prepares a recommendation for the president on each application for presidential "clemency," including pardons, commutations of sentences, remissions of fines, and reprieves.....snip~

Quote from the article:

The National Enquirer was notorious 30 years ago for scandal journalism but after mucho libel suits they've been said to have a much higher percentage of accurate reporting lately. That doesn't mean I believe Simpson has brain cancer but I do believe they're testing him for it.

The past is the past. He is currently a convicted criminal.
I do believe if terminal, he should be allowed to die peacefully around family under house arrest. I would feel this way about any terminally ill prisoner who is near death.

Finally, someone who isn't so overly biased. OJ did look like nutbag driving all over LA before turning himself in and may have even committed the murders but I fail to see how persecuting him brings anyone peace?

Honestly, if he truly is dying of brain cancer, he should be placed on house arrest in a hospice, or something, where he can be seen by his family. That being said, I'd want that for anyone who was terminal. The fact that he was a fantastic football player means nothing to me.

Where did I claim the brain tumor was confirmed? I said "he claims to have brain cancer." For all I know he's being a drama queen but he appears to me a pitiful reduction of the Star NFL running back I remembered. But hey if your emphasis is on righteous indignation, then more power to you. The way the medical system works he'll probably get better treatment from the prison than any health insurance would provide.

Another person after my heart. Being a decent human, especially toward those who least deserve it is the way of peace.

Would that also hold true for someone who brutally murdered your wife and children?

Yes, he has been jailed and was in jail when he got sick. He is going to die soon and will (if he is religious and believes so) going to meet his maker and account for his crime there too which could lead him into a place much worse than prison (again, if you believe in that kind of thing).

Just because this killer has shown his horrible side and shown his lack of mercy, we as a society should show that we are morally superior to him and allow his loved ones who are innocent of any crime, to say goodbye to him. Our last slight of him will be that we were humane enough to show compassion where he had none and that is something that should weigh equally heavy on his mind IMHO.

So, this is possibly a stupid question and will earn me ridicule but wasn't he acquitted?

If the gloved does not fit, you must acquit.

My father died of brain cancer. I don't take that lightly.

Because getting sick does not get you a "get out of jail free" card. You do the crime, you do the time, simple enough.

I'm sorry to hear but I don't see where I injected levity into it?

You didn't. Apologies if my response made it seem that way.

And to address the original post, I need to see something better than the Enquirer before I believe a word of this story.
