If USA started a world war, then be invaded by the world, would you accept draft?

Yeah I know, sorry for the drop. What I meant was we've been to war over nothing before, unfortunately this guy really does have two dead dogs.

Open civil disobedience, and speak out against such imperialism. Before invaded. Defend the country, not the government, once invaded. That's the way.

That is unfortunate, but fortunately free dogs are available all over the USA.

I like dogs and I've owned a lot of dogs and I never paid a penny for any of them.

If I felt the cause was just, I would fight in a war.

If I did not, I would not.

And my decision would be based 100% on non-government sources of information.

I would NEVER fight a war just because my government tells me to because I NEVER trust ANY government...although there was a time I did (trust government)...thank goodness that time has passed.

I do like that the OP included fighting for my freedom.

The government is not the country. People all to often confuse that, and forget our origins and the reason it was designed the way it was.
 
Not really sure how to respond here...
firstly, I think if our bases were attacked and wiped out, we would counterattack and possibly start up the draft before they got to the invading bit.

Unless you're talking all-out war, and in that case I would expect a nuclear attack, in which case your second bit is mostly moot - we wouldn't have much in the way of people to draft, unless the antimissile systems I've read about are far better in their current states (read: still classified) than I think.

Then there's the issue of a government which got us into that level of **** through incompetence probably facing internal revolution, albeit possibly non-violent (as in, we impeach the worthless ****s and get some better talent involved).


So many possible scenarios, interdependent on various factors that you didn't cover.

In short, I got no idea.

The only way I can see that changing is if some form of perfect or near-perfect anti-missile system is developed and implemented - thereby eliminating missile-delivered nuclear weapons as a reasonable attack method.

Absurd scenario. It could never go so far. Only psychotic terrorist buffoons yearn for the end of all things, and they're hardly in a position to bring it about.
 
Why would America start it?

Now, if America were invaded, and was not the aggressor, I'm sure our military would be there helping you guys out -- Western brethren and all. So I'd probably join up.

But I don't really understand the premise of the question.
