Ok Chris, sure. This all started because of a claim of yours that Japan attacked the US without provocation, remember that?

Well I think their attack on Pearl Harbor was unprovoked. The sanctions we put on Japan were legitimate. They were a menace at that time.

Every MALE born from 1959 was and still is required to register with the Selective Service, which can be done at the post office. Failing to do so is to be punished:

    1. 5 years in federal prison.
    2. $250,000 in fines.
    3. Lose of voting rights, gun ownership rights and all other loses associated with a felony conviction.
    4. Banned from ever holding a federal job or job with the post office.
    5. Banned from only most political offices and many other types of employment.
    6. Generally also then being unable to be bonded or licensed for many professions, including as an attorney.
    7. Banned from most law enforcement positions.

    Most states also have penalties.

Shouldn't every male who has not or did not register as required be promptly arrested and prosecuted since everyone must follow the law and there should never be any exceptions or excuses allowed?

So many people in this country receive all the rewards she has to offer, yet are unwilling to give anything back to here. If JFK was alive today and stated this, "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." I am sure the vast majority of Americans would laugh him out of the building.

I think pretty that most Americans are perfectly happy to let less than 1% of the population defend America and that they wouldn't lift a hand to defend her if she was invaded and conquered.
This Reform Party member thinks it is high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first and their political party further down the line. But for way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

I totally disagree. I like to think that if people believed America was going to be conquered, most of us would fight against that.

That is ridiculouse. A blocade/embargo on a country IS an act of war. We provoked a Japanese response. So the attack on PH was NOT unprovoked.

Except that all these wars of aggression/opportunity that follow long term FP goals hardly equate to defending America. Let a foreign army land on our beeches, and Americans would step up to the plate. The BS Pentagon activities of the last 50 years breed an apathy non existent in WW2.

Are you kidding me? Japan was helping Germany. THEY were the aggressors. WE were trying to do whatever we could to stay OUT of that war and be peacekeepers, until they attacked Pearl Harbor.

I do not believe for a single minute or even a second. There is nothing that I have seen or read that would even install a bit of hope of what you said would come true. I think the vast majority of Americans would just stand idly by and let what ever was to happen, happen. If some foreign power took over, they would just assume that is the way the cookie crumbles.

Neither Germany or Japan had attacked the US. Our embargo was the first move, which was seen as a provocation. It really is that simple. Defend your perceived merits of our provocation all you want, but that strangle hold prompted Japanese retaliation in the form of attacking us at PH.

Well then, I had best had my escape plan well rehearsed.
