Virtually every civilization in history has had an established moral system. Classical liberalism rejects this, instead believing that man should be free to do virtually whatever he wants, regardless of the damage done to good mores or to the welfare of others.

Governments functioned before the writing of the constitution.

You mean kind of like monarchies?

There have always been forms of governing bodies unless there was a monarch or autocrat.

Yes, most of the governments that existed before our constitution were monarchies, although there were also republics.

That is correct, although in no case would it be right to worship a constitution.

    Oy Vey.
Because he was a con-man who built his political base in an dirty old refinery setting financed by rich old white guys and campaigned on raw racial bigotry to angry white men who lament the South lost the Civil War. All the rest was just icing around that core of support.

Ron Paul didn't worship the Constitution and tossed it aside when it suited him. For example, he gave speech after speech declaring the federal government absolutely has NO authority on the abortion issue either way - when he ran as a Libertarian. He had declared so for years.

BUT, as a Republican candidate, suddenly the Constitution no longer existed and he took the diametric opposite position becoming hardcore pro-life and boasting of pro-life legislation he promoted and promotes.

He was just a scuzzy politician who would say anything depending upon what crowd he was working at the time - changing it at will to whatever would best work for him - which generally had racism and racial segregation at it's core to built and fundraise from his angry white men base.

You're an angry white man living in Virginia, right?

    Who's that in your avatar?
