Would you rather support a candidate who will really take on their opposition and stand up for the things you believe in?

Or would you rather have someone more diplomatic and working with the other party?

Unsure/Other (Please explain)

I voted for: a fighter.

I don't think - if people really thought about it - that they would care who is working together - if those who are working together are working together for what is not really in the best interest of the people.

A fighter that is why I think Pierre Trudeau was the greatest prime minster he got things done and didn't give a **** about what other people thought.

"Well, just watch me."

After that he declared martial law to stop the FLQ and he is also the man who created our Charter of Rights and Freedoms among many other things. He basically defined modern Canada and he was a Liberal to.

It's a little confusing, because liberals don't actually care about freedom.

IF is the biggest word in the English language, IF those who are working together....

I'd vote for someone smart enough to know when to fight and when to seek common ground. All or nothing tends heavily toward the nothing... :peace

Well most Americans don't understand it as it does not have a right to bear arms (we traded it for the right to vote) and we have a reasonable limit clause. It is what Canadians wanted.

Or defines a nation.

I want a candidate who will take on their opposition and stand up for the things I believe in.The last thing I want is my elected official caving and working with the other side on issues I oppose.

I would kill to have someone like that leading our nation right now... So long as he was on my side, of course.

Not entirely. I just want to know how people think. Especially when nominating candidates. I figured it'd be a good discussion.

I did leave the option for Other - for those who don't have an opinion either way. But I know that a lot of voters do have a strong opinion on this.

I know what you mean. But with you being conservative and him being liberal - you would get the exact opposite.

Yep. Even a small step in the right direction is better than none at all - but allowing even a small step in the wrong direction can be a critical mistake.

EXACTLY!!!!!!! It's like some people don't really even believe what they believe. And will do what sounds nice in theory but in reality they will never get what they want.

He lost an election to the Progressive Conservatives but won an election eight months later, he would have been prime minster for almost 15 years. He also had majority government for most of those 15 years, if I remember correctly. Well if you want someone like him you need to remove those term limits.

What do you mean?

American Conservatives usually say our Charter does not really work and it does not have true freedom as there is no right to bear arms.

If my POV has a clear majority or a sizable lead, a fighter. Get stuff done.

If there is more balance, a compromiser, get as much done as you can.

That doesn't sound consistent with your avatar picture.

But again, I don't think people will care "how much" is being done if all that is being done is eliminating freedom.

I did express an opinion, not don't have an opinion either way. I have far more respect for those who's political lean doesn't blind them to reality, such as your statement that liberals are not concerned about freedom...

Ahhh but the devil in that is who gets to decide what is 'right' and what is 'wrong'.

The avatar picture is a joke... (if you ever pay attention to my stuff, you will see I have a huge sense of humor)

Actually, what motivates the majority of people is comfort and security. Sad but true, people tend to not to do much else but pay lip service to higher principals. Plus nobody ever agrees on what the higher principals aught to be anyway. I believe this is why all societies inevitable end up taking a middle path between the stronger ideologies inherent within that particular culture.

Then you will not respect me - but that's alright because I stand up for what I believe in and would rather be hated for that than liked for what I'm not. I don't cave in to pressure to "compromise" what I believe in - what is right and wrong.

Liberals really do hate freedom and it's obvious from everything. They also want to turn America away from God.
