I know it's early but it's fun to take the time now to speculate and add thoughts. I want to set up different kinds of the same polls - as I feel that they will be more revealing than only doing it one way.

For example, in some polls, I will have a vote for one. In other polls of the same kind, I'll have a vote for all that you want.

In this one, it'll be a one-option. It seems these polls here are limited to 10 options, so I'm gonna put the most mentioned prospective candidates and top-tier.

Ted Cruz
Rand Paul
Mike Huckabee
Marco Rubio
Chris Christie
Rick Santorum
Rick Perry
Jon Huntsman
Paul Ryan

By the way, I voted for Ted Cruz.

While I think Governors are good choices - if more leaning libertarian/conservative - I really think Ted Cruz would do a great job as President.

Your poll isn't functional yet and I'm a registered Independent so I won't be voting in any primary. That being said, here are 2 people who I could support as of now:
Chris Christie and Jon Huntsman.

3 years is a long time away so this is my SWAG, not my commitment. The rest are either unknown to me or much too radical to consider.

Christie supports gun control & NSA spying. I don't think he's a good candidate for President.

I voted for him in 2009 against Jon Corzine. I voted third party in 2013.

Wait. Damnit. I put the wrong name for this thread. I was gonna make another poll with that name. This one was meant to be 2016 GOP PRIMARY

Of that list I could conceivably vote for Christie, Ryan, Rubio, Huntsman, and Jeb Bush for other. In order of preference? Christie, Bush, Ryan, Huntsman/Rubio (for different reasons). If Cruz, Perry, or Huckabee were the nominee I likely would not vote for the GOP candidate. I'm very much undecided on Paul.

You need "for" and "against" options to read between the lines.

I'm leaning Rand Paul at the moment.

everyone - please stop voting in this poll - since i was not able to change the title - i am making a new thread & asking admin/mods to either lock or delete this one. Thanks and sorry for inconvenience.

Too early to tell

Here in Georgia we don't register by parties, we are just registered. So come primary time, I can choose to vote in either the republican or democratic primary. The only thing is if you vote in the presidential primary in one party you have to vote in the state wide primary of that same party and any runoff that occurs. There is no switching from party to party. I have voted in both primaries depending on whom I want to win or whom I want to lose.

If I chose the GOP primary, I probably would vote for Christie at the moment. But that could change depending on what happens between now and then.

Huntsman, though I'm in a closed primary state and not a registered a Republican.
. Christie is another warhorse (aren't they ALL???) who kowtows to the 9-11 crowd whom lost relatives/friends on that terrible day.

I'm really tired of 9-11 forming our entire outlook at the world - while it has to be factored in - it cannot be sole the driving agenda.
