Are you kidding me? Your comment proves you've never read the federalist papers and what they imply concerning federal power. Big gov, save us from the magical terrorists. Your chances of dying in a swimming pool are exponentially higher than being killed by a terrorist.

    Exactly what I was thinking.
If they have nothing to hide then they have nothing to worry about.

People are insinuating that Edward Snowden benefitted when there isn't an ounce of proof to back it up.
(Really... How could making the biggest government in the world your enemy be profitable?)

We do have proof that Edward Snowden revealed a lie in front of congress by the head of the NSA. That, legally, makes him a whistleblower.

Naturally, I don't expect the government to actually follow the rules it sets for itself.

Explain just what is unconstitutional about foreign SIGINT, because you said the mere existence of the NSA was unconstitutional. Nobody said anything about the chances of dying in different manners.

Why do you think information is classified?

    Um...money?

There wouldn't be, if they were doing foreign work. Unfortunately, your argument is toast because Snowden released info about domestic spying.

I really need to go back to my gun forum. This place is loaded with big gov statists.

P.S., the gun forum is largely comprised of vets that agree with Snowden. Everyone gets together, shoots together, super tight community (consisting of 25K members). I'll take their word for it when combat vets say he did the right thing.

I need to get out of this thread. I can't believe you guys are on board with large scale domestic spying operations. 1984. Incredible.

And that was his choice. Do you think that he hasn't given the millions of documents he had to the Chinese and Russians? Really? lol

Also, I asked who you think works in intelligence. They're just regular people, dude.

He at one point took an oath when he was mil. I never took that oath, you never took that oath. For that, he should hold himself to a higher standard (towards the American people), and he has. He didn't obey people that were giving orders that violated the rights of Americans. He informed Americans that these powers were in fact spying on them regularly, unjustifiably, with complete impunity. There is no accountability, and he decided enough was enough. Good for him. He kept his oath. More than most can say, most can't even keep a promise (cough president cough)
