And where's that, Mr. Hatuey?

No, they don't. They encourage people to vote which they might not do if the poll wasn't anonymous.

I don't care what cowards think

I think you merely forgot to make the poll non-anonymous

Um. It's based on a novel, set in a fantasy world called middle earth, in which there were no black people? Having read the books quite a few years ago, maybe my memory is rusty...but I can't recall mention of a single black person.
The only black people mentioned in the novel (that I recall) were from the south and were heading to Mordor when Frodo and Sam saw the oliphant. I forget the name of their race off the top of my head, though.

No, the book was a swipe at uncontrolled industrialism and the upper ruling classes. If anything, conservatives should be crapping their pants over how communist it is.
Actually, I just enjoy that they are good books and the movies are a mostly accurate representation of them. Not everything has to be viewed through a political lens and dissected for it's socioeconomic subplots and meanings. What was the meaning of "The Expendables" pray tell?

You couldn't tell? Stallone is the son of an Italian immigrant and immigrants are here to save America. Pure liberal garbage.

And who was the main bad guy "boss"? It was former professional wrestler Steve Austin. And what kind of trunks did Austin wear? Black trunks. Obviously America needs saved from black people. Pure conservative garbage.

You really ought to pay more attention to the brainwashing subtleties in the movies you watch. ;)

What? A 5' 6" fellow can't be the world heavyweight boxing champion? Even if he tries really, really hard? ;)

Nope but he could be a soft core porn star

of course that was before the days when all those HGH supplements he took now forces him to use a pump to "Get it up"

Harad?

Gandalf became a much better person when he was a "white" wizard.

Sounds about right.

There was a brown wizard and Gandalf was orginally Gandalf the Grey.

So, people, what do you think? :)
What's your feeling about that? :peace

It irks me when people look at a FANTASY work - with invented species, races, religions, history . . . and then apply our present-day issues to it.

Sorry - let me invent an alternate world and then fuss over skin tone

I think if SS makes another porn film one of his signature lines would be

"I'm you worst #$%)#_# Eunuch" as he breaks out the pump!

TBF very few of the characters are actual people (ie humans)

Yes but we all know that lions are racist because there are not any black ones.

I wouldn't know.

I was so bored I walked out of the theater during the first movie.

You don't have to view it through that prism if you don't want to, and I was perfectly able to enjoy the films before I learned that it was about industrialism myself. But like it or not, that really is what Tolkein intended it to represent.

Awesome explosions and one-liners.

He wasn't brown... he was Radagast "the Brown" and even when Gandalf was "the Grey" he was still a white man.

With horrible acting and stupid action... and they made it even worse with the sequel.

They eat the white and black of the zebra though...

Thinking about what the story is intended to be a metaphor for always enhances it for me.

It was written by a white guy living in a pretty much white country... I made up a children's story for my daughters. Kinda a Tom Sawyer version of adventure with horses and all this stuff that I am writing into a kids book. We are white. The main characters are white. Doesn't make it racist.

Having all white kids is racist.

You should have at least one black child and of course an Asian.

Sacrilege! The Expendables 2 was the greatest story ever told.
