Show me a white guy in sub-Sahara with a bone in his nose and a painted face worshiping a tree and practicing magic and then, perhaps, your side of the argument will have the slightest bit of evidence.

I've seen a lot in New York, when they occupied Wall-street.

Damn, you would have to go and qualify it by stipulating sub Saharan Africa.

and right when I was about to invite you to come along with me to the next country fair here in Eugene, too!

Don't worry, according to some morons, we all have African culture. We're all Africans!

Excellent arguments.

Stupid arguments, devoid of knowledge regarding Africa and sociology. That kind of BS is for children.

As someone with a PhD(c) in Ecology and Sociology, having spent years in Africa, I can assure you that those arguments are an embarrassment for any learned person.

Personally, I don't give a ****.

There is only one race...the human race.

Deciding a person's 'race' based on the melanin content of their skin is ignorant in the extremis, IMO.

That's real strange because I find your arguments far more suited to children .. "bone in his nose." Talk about a childish argument?

Irrespective of whatever degree you may or may not have, or where you may or may not have lived, you are entitled to your perspectives .. I have no desire to change anything you choose to believe.

It is that simple.

If only it were that easy .. but that is not the world we exist in. I wish it was.

Compared to Africans, yes! This is what you fail to understand - ancestry is not a couple generations deep. Having spent time with white South Africans and a white Zimbabwean, I can assure you they had no African traditions or culture. They were aware of such things, but had not adopted them.

Do you really not realize how ridiculously racist it is to insinuate that having a bone in your nose it what defines "African culture"? Further, if you didn't pick up on the differences between white Africans and White Europeans (accent, mannerisms, etc) then it is not all that surprising you can't tell the difference between white Americans and White europeans.

The culture that did not come from Europeans.

Which one? There is no monolithic African culture. Believe it or not, there is even variety amongst "bones in their nose" cultures, many of which are not African.

This debate has become too stupid for me. I draw the line at nihilism.

Good day.

I can assure you it started off stupid, and I'm not at all depressed at your willingness to further such racism. Trust me, I'll live without it.

Well, according to others, regardless of the fact that all of our "races" originated in Africa, all that matters is the color of your skin to qualify you as African. That sir, is exceptionally moronic. Exceptionally.

Apparently your PhD in sociology didn't teach you much about culture and it's impact on humanity. One is not any less genetically African than any other, the only thing that really separates us is culture.

By the way, I just did a google image search of "African people." Very few of them actually had bones in their noses...just sayin.

Their ancestors are not African.

History of South Africa - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

They would be South African Americans, or just "mutts" like the rest of us.

Although the argument could be made that "African" means sharing native sub-saharan african ethnicity, the term also fits, for Afrikaners, for North africans.

Beyond that, there is wide genetic variation amongst "sub saharan" africans, and so the term does not imply genetic variation alone but superficial appearance.

Also, these differences may or may not matter there, or here in the US. So the most correct answer is that anything goes, imo.

Yes, let's move on to the next issue. KKK'ers who drag black men to their deaths on the back of their pickup trucks, which happened right here in Texas after the year 2000. Yes, Birmingham is over, but it's ugly spirit remains. If you are attempting to claim that racism is dead, then you have been living in a cave.

You are correct, racism is very much alive. It's kept alive by people like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Oprah, etc. who make a ton of money off it.

Yes.

It's not normally USED in that way - that people are mostly knowing of.

But, it's funny how if I say "some african american" and they're white. You'll think I lied to you. Haha.
