Once again, I've heard those words before, decades ago, from many people. They don't hold up.

No, how do you think they staff the division stuck in Korea?

I am not them and they are not me. I have no reason to expect I will buckle to punishments or threats that I have no reason to respect.

I'm not overly convinced that the actions of the government are warranted simply because they go by the name of the US government and not by the name of a common thug.

The U.S. Government was put into power by the votes of a majority of your fellow citizens.

Anyone who chooses to ignore a draft call-up notice will pay the consequences.

Since I'm seventy years old and I already served 6 years on active duty I don't believe that I will ever be called up.

I never said I wasn't willing to bear the consequences.

    That's your choice.

Lots of people who have made that choice ended up behind bars.

I highly doubt the majority of the population votes at all. Actually, I know they don't. I also don't care what the majority of the population votes for and regardless of what they do I will still have my own mind and my own opinion on matters.

Then let the government prove themselves unworthy by compelling it's citizens to die for them. It only provides me assistance in my case against them.

Lots of them did not as well.

If you really believe you want to draft people in the military than you better be willing to deal with people that have no plans to listen to your commands and show up completely unwilling to listen to anything any of the military officers have to say.

Those people will end up behind bars and they will pay a price for their violation of U.S. law.

They will get no sympathy from me.

    With rights come responsibilities.

I never accepted that premise. It makes little sense to me to say I have a responsibility to die for people that I never agreed to be part of.
