I know. I don't know why Earl is still with us. He once rode an old riding lawn tractor down the road in the middle of February to mow his long dead mother's grass. He fell off the mower, into the ditch and laid there for over an hour with his bald head on the road passed out drunk. I finally called his wife to get him before a car or truck came by. There's not much traffic here, to say the least, which is a good thing for Earl. Fortunately, he lives about a mile away from me.

I suspect it must be just the women you are choosing. I'm a rural/country woman, and the last thing you could describe me as is a drunk, or a substance abuser of any kind whatsoever. In fact, I have a good many friends who are rural types, and there is only one who is an alcoholic, and it is a man, whom I love dearly, in spite of his alcoholism. He's one of the most stand-up, honest, and cool men I know.

If they are anything like my Aunt Annie in rural Pennsylvania. they work from daylight till late at night. She still cooks on a wood-burning stove...some of the best food I have ever eaten.. has a bunch of very polite children, keeps chickens, has a garden, helps with the farm critter butchering...and her lifestyle would kill me in a week! She doesn't have time to drink! :mrgreen:
