Why is it I'm reminded of police in New Orleans after Katrina?

Thirty years ago, when the police were more trustworthy, I might in an extreme circumstance. Fast forward to today, I'm sorry, but I don't trust the police any more than I would trust the mob in 1920s Chicago.

then you are a hypocrite and everything you say on the matter is just babble.

I guess my question is what good would they be if you needed them during the disaster and you handed them over? During a disaster I am taking mine with me.

No I wouldn't turn them over.

Not enough to give them my guns.

That occurred to me as well. In times of natural disaster, especially if looting is possible, is the kind of times when you'd probably need them most.

I don't think the police are more trustworthy than they are now we just now have video of it.

My question to you is if say your house was damaged and flooded, torn apart, burned, etc. by a natural disaster and have no safe place to store them would you surrender your firearms voluntarily to the police for safe keeping until you could return home and store them safely.
If it was only my house damaged by fire, flood or what ever I would take my guns across the road to my oldest daughters house and store them there.
This Reform Party member thinks it is high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first and their political party further down the line. But for way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

Somebody I trust should be okay, I could let them hold the weapons and ammo and they can use them for the range, hunting, or whatever legal purposes they can think of in return.
Neither side in an argument can find the truth when both make an absolute claim on it.

Well if it's a natural disaster I doubt it would only affect your house otherwise it is not much of a natural disaster.
