Something similar to this is happening in Mexico with car insurance.

There are so many new cars being stolen that the insurance companies have to charge more each year to each customer.

Even though the value of my car goes down every year, and the cost of the insurance should too, the insurance goes up to cover the losses from the insurance companies.

The same thing will happen with Obamacare. In a few years the cost of the policy will be cost prohibitive, and what will people do then?

Don't focus too much on the word crap. It's subjective. They didn't meet the standards. But you're also incorrect that all of them are being cancelled due to ACA.

And some insurers have just decided they don't want to sell these policies anymore. Insurers in the individual market have frequently made decisions that one policy isn't sold from one year to the next, so it's a combined set of factors why some people aren't getting to hold their policies.

AUSTAN GOOLSBEE: I think the world vests too much power, certainly in the president, probably in Washington in general for its influence on the economy, because most all of the economy has nothing to do with the government.

This false equivocation is silly. Who says that a man has a vested interest in some woman's baby - there's no provision that says if the child happens to be yours, you will pay more. The law says all men will pay for these things regardless of who fathers whom. So no, I'm not particularly interested in paying for someone else's maternity coverage. Pregnancy is an elective thing. There are other options.
If you get your health insurance through your place of employment, don't men and woman pay the same rate?

Exactly what changes are you attributing to non-ACA involvement that are happening now?

They could, depending on the pool. Note that the same sized pool in an office full of women probably pay more for the same policy than a similar group of men would. The simple truth is that women have more medical issues than men do. Cancer patients require much more care than a healthy young adult. The elderly require more care. This is simple reality. We can spread the risk, but denying reality will not help a rational distribution of risk. Why is a life insurance policy for a 40 year old female much less than the same policy for a male?

Anyone trying to discuss Obamacare on Thanksgiving better say it loud enough for people to hear it over my exclamations of "F'n Stafford! Quit f'n throwin the ball to the other f'n team!" and "that was pass f'n interference, you blind mofo".

Maybe they can do it during the postgame before I say the same things again, substituting Romo for Stafford.

You'll just have to make an effort to fuse the two into one. "****! That fumble was almost as bad as Obamacare on October 1st!" Stuff like that will take the sting out of such remarks for the faithful.

There are 2 things that I don't talk about at the dinner table: Politics and religion.
