Nope, I'll be working Black Friday!! Which actually starts on Thursday!! woot woot!!
Nobody who wins a war indulges in a bifurcated definition of victory. War is a political act; victory and defeat have meaning only in political terms. A country incapable of achieving its political objectives at an acceptable cost is losing the war, regardless of battlefield events.

Bifurcating victory (e.g. winning militarily, losing politically) is a useful salve for defeated armies. The "stab in the back" narrative helped take the sting out of failure for German generals after WWI and their American counterparts after Vietnam.

All the same, it's nonsense. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, show me a political loser, and I'll show you a loser.

It's always been packaged that way. Even individual plans have been part of groups to keep costs down. You're looking past the issue to cherry pick something silly.

AUSTAN GOOLSBEE: I think the world vests too much power, certainly in the president, probably in Washington in general for its influence on the economy, because most all of the economy has nothing to do with the government.

Does a man have any responsibility for a woman being pregnant and thus the woman needing maternity coverage?

Does a man require medical care for a woman being pregnant?

No. I am pointing out that the plans being cancelled are being cancelled because they do not include something silly. Not because they are "crap". Kristen Powers plan was not "crap". JumpinJacks' policy was not "crap". They were what these people wanted.

Apparently not, since birth control is free now.

No, but shouldn't the cost of health care have the same cost regardless of gender? And shouldn't the man have a vested interest in the health of woman who will be the mother of his baby?

I do not think the president wants me to talk about Obamacare over Thanksgiving. He would not like my thoughts on it one bit.
This Reform Party member thinks it is high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first and their political party further down the line. But for way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

How can an intelligent person ask that question. Do you not know the genders are different and have different health needs?

The answer to the second question is yes but do all men?

Shouldn't health care have the same cost regardless of anything at all? Why is gender the only discriminating factor? What about maladies? Why should the cancer patient pay more than someone who is healthy? Why should the elderly pay more than the young? Why should someone in NYC pay more than someone in Memphis? This false equivocation is silly. Who says that a man has a vested interest in some woman's baby - there's no provision that says if the child happens to be yours, you will pay more. The law says all men will pay for these things regardless of who fathers whom. So no, I'm not particularly interested in paying for someone else's maternity coverage. Pregnancy is an elective thing. There are other options.
