No, he isn't and never was. He is a $ocialist.
Sorry, pushed the wrong button. :3oops:

Obama never was a socialist. When you look at all of his policies, when you look at his tactics, it is clear to anyone who knows a shred about comparative politics, that Obama is, was, and forever shall be, a Fascist.

Also false, but thanks for playing.

Obama is, at best, a milquetoast corporatist and, as all politicians here are, a doubletalker (at best). We know this.

One of the key elements of Fascism is Nationalism. I always see Obama criticized from the right for hating America. Can't have it both ways.

Really, so essentially what you're saying and you are saying this with your nonchalant vapidity is that the policies which he has pushed which involve aiding in the consolidation of monied interests combined with the concentration of power in the political class, the dividing of labor(pitting union vs non union), the targeting of and pandering to the lower levels of the managerial class, the authoritarian style of governance, arbitrarily deciding which laws to enforce, making up new powers as he goes along, and the direct tying of corporate benefited and provided social entitlements, that, that isn't fascism, has to have the "OK USA" bumper sticker to go along with it, in order for it to be fascism...

Evolution is a new concept, eh? Because, you know, I know, socialism, communism, anarchism, capitalism -- those, those are all static, nope no change in their dynamics...

Good lord....

Oh, and better to be a playa than to be played...:peace

Soo the Dow hit a record high of 16,000 under this terrible "anti business, socialist" Obama.. Is he still a "socialist"?

While I think the "socialist" label is moronic and political trolling, what would the dow have to do with it's validity?

Definitely a DC establishment type, more than anything

:lamo Obama .. a socialist

Do you know how the valuation of stocks works? As long as QE is in effect the market will rise because the dollar is being debased; thereby causing the asset price to go up. If you own an asset that is worth 100 dollars in a world that has 1000 dollars in it, You have something that is worth 10% of all assets combined. How much would your asset be worth in a world that has 2000 dollars in it?

Absolutely. The goal of the socialist is to control the flow of capital and the means of production, this can be accomplished by force or by coercion. The crony capitalism we have is a system of favors and coercion. In effect socialism in heavily regulated sectors.

What does "socialist or not" have to do with the stock market figures? When Socialists are in charge in France or in Spain do not stock markets still function, and have their highs and lows?

Why not? Being a socialist means favoring more government involvement in the economy, often including more corporate welfare, more fiscal "stimulation", and looser monetary policies - all of which gives boosts to the stocks, in the short term. And Wall Street doesn't think long term, by its very nature.

He hasn't been one in decades.

Dont try to confuse us with logic.

he never was one. Bernie Sanders is the closest thing to a real socialist in the legislative or executive branches.

Just because he calls himself by the name? How his ideology or his voting record any different from any randomly chosen guy or gal in the left wing of Democratic Party?

Obviously you don't know Wall Street.

Wall Street .. a Socialist ..

Wall Street pours more money on a SOCIALIST than any candidate in American history.

Are you sure you want to go with that?

'CLOSEST' is the optimum word here.

No real socialist would have voted for the ACA.

:0) In other words, there is no limit to how far you're willing to stretch 'socialism' and 'capitalism.'

I think I do know both Wall Street and socialists in politics quite enough. I told you why they are quite compatible. Often the same people: Jon "I simply don't know where the money is" Corzine was the ultimate Wall Street insider, then Senator, then Governor of New Jersey.

You just answer with "Are you sure?".
