He should be impeached for lying to the American people...The only problem is if her was impeached we get Biden as president and that might be worse.

Lying is not a criminal offense unless it's under oath.

If we hold this standard to every president. Then 98% of American Presidents would be impeached.

Sure sure, it needs to be under oath and all of that, but you need a small demonstrable violation (ex. Johnson's met the bare standards, but it was a rather weak case to begin with) to get anywhere. It's all about the art of convincing and amplifying their faults. Clinton perjured himself. It met the bare standard, but he perjured himself about receiving a blowjob. It met the criteria, but it wasn't so convincing that he was to then be removed from office (or at least our Congressmen agreed, popular opinion also agreed). Johnson's crime was largely opposing his party in the legislative branch. He was made into a small small man at the end of it, but he at least got to keep some of his dignity by remaining in office.

Just curious what did GWB do to warrant impeachment?

Oh, come now. Don't play that game when you want Obama to be impeached for also "lying."

Come on, at least you can join the dark side by saying that impeachment is the last resort of partisan dissent. It was never used honorably, and it will never be used so honorably.

Just a reality check, Obama's record is heavily tilted towards following through on his word. If you wanted a President who would never lie to you you should have re-elected Carter.

Isn't bait and switch classified as a crime now? I think it is.

"n. a dishonest sales practice in which a business advertises a bargain price for an item in order to draw customers into the store and then tells the prospective buyer that the advertised item is of poor quality or no longer available and attempts to switch the customer to a more expensive product. Electronic items such as stereos, televisions, or telephones are favorites, but there are also loan interest rates which turn out to be only for short term or low maximums, and then the switch is to a more expensive loan. In most states this practice is a crime and can also be the basis for a personal lawsuit if damages can be proved. The business using "bait and switch" is an apt target for a class action since there are many customers but each transaction scarcely warrants the costs of a separate suit."

When he commits a crime, I'll support his impeachment.

What Obama does is criminal, but he hasn't committed a crime.

Well then, let's consider these:

He has clearly communicated his intent to eviscerate the second amendment rights of American citizens by pursuing executive orders to curtail the right to keep and bear arms without congressional authorization and in violation of the second amendment.
Below, Congressman Stockman has pledged to move for impeachment against Obama. I am standing up against Obama right beside him, will you?
“The President’s actions are an existential threat to this nation,” reads a statement by Rep. Steve Stockman. “The right of the people to keep and bear arms is what has kept this nation free and secure for over 200 years. The very purpose of the Second Amendment is to stop the government from disallowing people the means to defend themselves against tyranny. Any proposal to abuse executive power and infringe upon gun rights must be repelled with the stiffest legislative force possible.”

- He has aided America’s enemies, violating his oath, by sending funds to insurgents in Syria who are being commanded by Al-Qaeda terrorists.

- He has violated federal law by overseeing a cover-up surrounding Operation Fast and Furious, the transfer of guns to Mexican drug cartels direct from the federal government.

- He has lied to the American people by overseeing a cover-up of the Benghazi attack which directly led to the deaths of four American citizens. The cover-up has been called “Obama’s Watergate,” yet four months after the incident, no one in the administration has been held accountable.

- He has brazenly undermined the power of Congress by insisting his authority came from the United Nations Security Council prior to the attack on Libya and that Congressional approval was not necessary. “I don’t even have to get to the Constitutional question,” said Obama. This is an act that “constitutes an impeachable high crime and misdemeanor under article II, section 4 of the Constitution,” according to Congressman Walter Jones.

- He has ignored Congressional rejection of the cybersecurity bill and instead indicated he will pursue an unconstitutional executive order.

- He has signed into law the National Defense Authorization Act which includes provisions that permit the abduction and military detention without trial of U.S. citizens, violating Habeas Corpus. Despite Obama claiming he would not use the provisions to incarcerate U.S. citizens, it was his administration that specifically demanded these powers be included in the final NDAA bill.

- He has enacted universal health care mandates that force Americans to buy health insurance, a clear violation of the Constitution in exceeding congressional power to regulate interstate commerce. Obama has also handed outpreferential waivers to corporations friendly to his administration.

- He has declared war on America’s coal industry by promising to bankrupt any company that attempts to build a new coal plant while using unconstitutional EPA regulations to strangle competition, ensuring Americans see their energy costs rise year after year.

- He has violated the Constitution’s Takings and Due Process Clauses when he bullied the secured creditors of automaker Chrysler into accepting 30 cents on the dollar while politically connected labor unions and preferential others received better deals.

- He has violated Article II of the Constitution by using signing statements as part of his executive usurpation of power.

Because something went wrong in a rollout someone should be impeached?

Damn right, the minute people that had great insurance started losing policies and coverage. That MF should be thrown in jail for the rest of his natural life along with Pelosi and Reid.

Because of a bill made 3 million people loose their ****ty insurance which is essentially what the bill is supposed to do?

You must have some real insight on the insurance industry to summarily dismiss 3 million policies as "s**tty".

Do you do part-time actuarial work? I was just wondering what formulae you used to come to this conclusion.

They did not meet the ACA's standard. Most of them were paid individually, not by the company, so most of them were not very good policies.

Now we've all heard that there were 3 presidents who were put up for impeachment:
1. Andrew Johnson
2. Bill Clinton
3. Richard Nixon (as a note, Nixon was never actually impeached, he just quit before he could be tried)

Now Johnson just tested the limitations of a law (the Tenure of Office act of 1867). He did this by trying to fire the Secretary of War, and that led to his trial. The house impeached him, but the senate didn't, so he stayed.

Bill Clinton admitted to having an affair after months of lying to people about it. Once again House impeached him, but the senate cleared him.

So my question is, should the disaster with obamacare, between the lying, the people loosing their healthcare, ect...,be enough to impeach Obama?

You're joking, right? I'm not even certain a try to impeach could get out of the House Judiciary Committee which is controlled by republicans. Whether or not this legislation is a disaster or not remains to be seen, but it was passed by congress and signed into law legally and constitutionally.

Remember, politics is the art of the possible. Impeachment at this time seems near impossible or at least is at long odds. Conviction is not going to happen. You need 2/3rd of the senate voting for impeachment and I would say you would get very close to 2/3rd voting no. I think you ought to learn from history, outside of the die hard Republicans, most every other American thought the Republican Party was crazy for tryiing to impeach Bill Clinton.

Not meeting the ACA's standard makes them "s**tty". Hilarious. That's like getting a 97% on your final and getting a B because the professor cuts off A at 98%.

Sorry you can't keep your "s**tty" 97%. We demand As around here.

Insurance policy and grades is a terrible comparrison.
"Some -- or maybe even most -- of the plans offered on the individual insurance market right now don't meet certain requirements in the health-care law. They may not offer preventive care without co-payment, for example, or leave out coverage of maternity care, one of the health-care law's 10 essential benefits."
This is why Obamacare is canceling some people’s insurance plans

So you're removing choice via an a-la-carte system and forcing people into policies with several provisions that they may very well never need...but still have to pay for.

How deliciously socialist of you. No differentiation, no choice. Automatons all around.

The system sets standards and still revolves around private insurance. So not "its not deliciously socialist of me".

Private insurance playing by strict and oppressive rules of the public sector.

If I run you down in my car and kill you, did you get killed by the car?

By allowing more people on private insurance. Yea, real "oppressive".

I'm of the view a Presidential impeachment should only be over things if he weren't President would go to prison over.
