ok so anyone else realize that half of the congress looks so old that they could kneel over and die any second? well i have, and it got me thinking, mabey there should be say a maximum age limit that a person can be in congress, a lot like the minimum limit. They could still be president maybe and like hold off ices in the administration, but some of them are just carrying on old ideas that aren't working with the changing world

Thoughts?

That misspelled title is killing me. Also where is the poll?

This was a similar argument used in support of the court packing bill.

Maybe one should become literate before weighing in on the country's problems.

"Hold off ices?" Is this because they are so full of hot air from their time in congress that we can just park them outside and let them breathe heavy in the winter so DC never freezes?

and yeah, I know it is just a misplaced press of the "space" key. but it changed the entire meaning of the sentence in my mind :2razz:

Meh....it's not like they actually have to read the bills they pass, anyhow.
How many days do these old guys "work" anyway.?
Perfect part-time job for an old fart.

This is certainly an argument for means testing.

Imagine their salaries, their huge benefits, their lifetime retirements, their free postage, free airfare, fine wining and dining and you can see some sort of argument that they don't need those Social Security checks.

I don't know that it would solve the SS problem, but it seems to me that multi-millionaires with fat paychecks do't need the monthly payoff, even if they paid in.

I actually like your translation of what the malfunctioning space bar produced! It could give some meaning to why they're there, and it would save on heating costs. That's a win-win, so what's not to like?

What would the age limit be? Would it take advances in health care into consideration?

It's a difficult call. I say we put them all to sleep and start over.

I've done it myself more than once. Polls are the ONLY thing you can't go back and edit. I edit probably 50% of my messages for typos and spelling.

In my opinion there should be an age limit for federal judges. We can vote old people out of Congress in theory when they become old derelicts - like Harry Reid. But we can't for federal judges.

Alprazolam, Zolpidem and an Obama speech are all I need.

In fairness to Obama, I think most people get tired of any prez in his 2nd term.
Same old blah, blah, blah.
Unless some catastrophe occurs, no one gives a s*** who the president is.

That's pretty good.
I edit 100% of my posts (really!!).
Makes my posts seem cogent and well-thought out.

Harry Reid will be in the Senate FOREVER.
Think of him as a zombie.

Cheeses griste.
'Kneel over and die'? You know, right, that we can't see you so your words represent you in this forum?

I edit every post. I only post about 30% of what I write and still manage to come off unconvincing and unthoughtful.
