You had a ton of Democrats saying the same thing when Bush the second was elected.

I don't recall them saying it the first time he got elected, I recall them saying it the second time he did.

But you are right, they did. But you have to admit it is funnier and distinctly more hypocritical that the Republicans talked about going to Canada because of Obama. I mean fleeing to a country with a nationalized healthcare system and gun control laws.

Remember the dummies sitting there yelling liar, liar. I have never seen anything so classless from either side.

The truth often hurts. Remember the context of the outburst??

There is nothing so sad as the blind devotee who refuses to simply open his eyes to reality.

Are you really calling me a partisan hack? I agree with more of the republican policy then Democrat, I just cannot tolerate the stupid from the Republicans. Full grown men sitting there saying liar liar over and over is embaressing.

I suspect that most people have no idea what to do to fix things, so they keep voting the same folks that created the problems back into office, hoping things will change. We all know the definition of insanity... :screwy: :sigh:

yes and that insanity is putting back into office the very same people what caused the problems to begin with.

Yes, under today's circumstance, yeah.

Never claimed you were a partisan hack and never claimed you were a supporter of Obama - simply pointed out that Joe Wilson spoke the truth - your President was lying - and many refuse to open their eyes to that reality.

As for grown men yelling during a session of congress, perhaps your country prides itself too much in silly decorum in order to protect leaders from confronting disapproval. You should try experiencing true democracy, in places like Canada, Britain, Australia, etc., where the country's leader is subjected to questioning in the house of parliament daily and held to account for his/her government's actions. Real men and women, real leaders, are able to withstand scrutiny of their actions - not American Presidents, however.

When you want to catch fish, you find a lure they like. Is the lure now "free stuff," in some form or another? It's sad that some are so easy to manipulate, cause there is no free stuff...everything has a price......

Yeah he's my president. Doesn't mean I have to be happy about it, but he is.

Is the President YOUR President?

I occasionally hear people say, "President <insert name here> is not MY President!" Usually by people who intensely dislike the current President. To me, this places party loyalty, and to a lesser extent ideology, above country.

Have you ever had such sentiments?

Being as I no longer consent to the US govt, no, hes not my President. WHich doesnt stop him from telling me what to do.

I cannot remeber which book it was right now but several years ago I read on old book about the founding fathers, I think that book was about 100 years old when I read it. What fascinated me about it was the descriptions of the politicians and the actual fights that would break out, like beating each other with canes and boxing and stuff. But I do think decorum has its place.

Of course he is. Part of living in a democracy means you sometimes have to deal with incompetent leaders...but they are still elected by 'the people'.

Decorum has its place when there are other opportunities to hold a country's leadership to account and demand answers. America gives the people's representatives, in the people's house, no such ability to hold the President personally to account. The President is like a pretty china doll, too fragile for the give and take of democracy - he, and perhaps one day she, must be protected from the "lower" ranks by all means necessary.

But there is no choice.

There are always choices. There is no law that states you must vote for a Republican or Democrat. I assume in most states they have minor parties running like they do here in Georgia. One can vote for them and work to elect them. Here there are always third party candidates for Governor and the senate. Some of our congressional representative races have third party candidates challenging the status quo. But even if the choice is just two names on the ballot, nothing say one can't always vote against the incumbent.

Then there is always the choice to start a grass roots movement, there are plenty of choices if one so desires to work for them.

I would be all for that, but it just never happens. Who was the last really serious 3rd party? Perot?

All together now, say "Sieg Heil!"

Is the House of Representatives YOUR House of Representatives?

That it does, someone someplace has to pay for it or we borrow more from Red China. Soon Red China won't have to worry about conquering us, they will own us and if we fail to do their bidding, no more money for uncle sugar. But it is more than free stuff, that is way over used. It is also complacency in the status quo or business as usual. You don't think there would have been any big changes if Romney won last year? It still would be business as usual, rewarding fat cat donors, perhaps the fat cat donors would have changed, but it still would be more of the same.

I would be all for that, but it just never happens. Who was the last really serious 3rd party? Perot?

I did for one, hence my name on this site and I still claim membership in what was his party. I think first people must realize that those who caused all the problems, do not have the solutions to those problems or the problems wouldn't exist in the first place. Now I don't know how to get around a lot of the election laws that are written to stop any third party from becoming viable. Or all the corporations, wall street firms, big money donations, etc. that go to the two major parties for future favors in return for their donations. Money is a serious third party problem, one Perot was able to overcome to a certain extent.

The electorate must over came the two major parties mantra, "You're wasting your vote if you vote third party because he can't win." I don't buy that. Both in 1992 and 1996 Perot ran on the debt/deficit, balancing the budget and other ideas. Sure he lost both elections by quite a lot, but what happened is both major parties adopted a lot of his ideas and in the year 2000, we came as close to a balanced budget as possible, only 17 billion was added to the debt that year. Sure he lost, but a lot of his ideas carried on in other forms by other parties.

Yes, the poll could have been worded better. Sorry about that. However, judging from the responses, the vast majority understood the intent.

#sobrave #rebel #freedom #RonPaul2016

That would imply wanting someone to be President, but as I said, I no longer consent to be governed by the US govt, so I no longer participate in federal elections. Florida is the highest authority (besides myself).

It wasnt really a poll, you were pointing out how people use rhetorical wording. Like when people call each other liars, which what they really mean is they disagree with an opinion.

The funny thing is the folks on the right saying they will move to Canada if Obama is elected - and they indicate healthcare as a huge reason.

It was beyond funny, I always wanted to say - you get my point - screw this middle of the road stuff - go to Canada with an actual socialized medicine structure.:lamo
IIRC it was Europe the Left favored.

Even the Canadian system isn't as screwed up and expensive for their country as ObamaCare will be. [it's 30% paid for by the private sector]
