Yes. Life is too short to be forced to go to school.

Childhood is meant to be enjoyed.

They can still learn plenty of important life lessons - that are both interesting, fun, and useful - outside being trapped in a classroom.

I hated going to school growing up.

We should have it so that say from 9th grade, if the kids want to drop out and riun their lifes, it is their choice. if the parents dont want them to, they can force them to stay in school, but you have all of these kids who are failing classes, ditching, sometimes even going to drugs, and we waste money putting them through year after years of school.

So question: should the drop out grade be lowered from 11th grade
Drop out of regular education? Yes.

    Out of school altogether? No.

Drop out and enter a trade academy. Construction. Road work. Trash collection.

That until 11th grade and then they can take off and benefit society.

Most people do not want to go to school. It is called growing up... doing things you don't want to.

I hated it growing up, too.

If you claim sexual harassment to be wrong, yet you defend anyone on your side for any reason,
then you are a hypocrite and everything you say on the matter is just babble.

    Re: Minimum drop out age

You weren't enjoying it as kids. You weren't just "learning". You were forced against your own will to go. You had to learn the same stuff every year that you would likely not have much use for in life.

Optional, yes. And let kids learn what they find interesting. Learn useful vocational stuff at a younger age. Why have to wait to graduate high school where you learned nothing useful. Then it ends up being harder to get in to the stuff that is more interesting and useful - depending on what you are studying and if it really interests you.

I say 16, with the requirement that those who drop have a mandatory 2 year trade school enrollment.
Its more realistic and gives more choice to those who need it.
