Really, the risks of all these sports are pretty well known, and those who engage in them should be prepared to accept them or stop participating. Where we can make them safer, we should, and generally we do.
Yeah, we got to watch out for those injuries occurring in professional bicycling, soccer, lacrosse, sailing, et al. Really, that's the best you've got?

Stay far, far away from the sports world. It's obviously an environment you can't handle. In a fight or flight situation, any football player that chooses flight needs retraining.

It's better than your namby pamby wailing. I've actually participated in one of those sports professionally, sailing in particular, and some experienced participants have traumatic head injuries, and some die. An accidental jibe is all it takes. A responsible person weighs the risks against the rewards. Don't think Dorsett didn't know the risks back when he was picking up those big pay days. Anybody who's had a few concussions knows, and anybody who says they don't is either lying or in denial. You should stay on your porch.

It was several of them. And more than a few have come out straight up defending him. Warren Sapp came about as close to reality as anyone Ive heard on this subject. On the field, in the locker room, people will do anything and say anything to get an advantage. People will talk about your mother, your sister, your wife, your dog. Anything. Martin is a 'liability' at this point. Every player that lines up across the field from him will pick at him until he actually grows a set.

Or for that matter, if they choose 'fight' over name calling. ANYONE that has stepped on a football field knows what time it is.

When you can hear muffled argumentive shouting going on thirty feet away in a closed door conference room, which is at the end of a glassed in hallway that connects two buildings together 30 feet above the ground, with heavy double glass doors at each end of said hallway.... you can be certain that one of two things is being discussed...1) future corporate policy or 2) a very high level personnel replacement...neither of which is roses and daisies! I sometimes miss the excitement of a business environment!

"Hell of a situation we got here. Two on, two out, your team down by one in the ninth. You got a chance to be a hero on national television... if you don't blow it. By the way, saw your wife last night, hell of a dancer, you must be very, very proud. I mean that guy she was with, I'm sure he's a close personal friend and all. But tell me, what was he doing wearing her panties on his head."
