Like I said - you need to be a man to understand the locker room mentality.
Oh I understand it. I just don't believe that what happened to Martin or to Cam Cleland is acceptable under any 'mentality'.

If he doesn't like it, why put up with it? Martin could leave the Dolphins, no?

Did you hear them using slang, cusses, a few "**** you's", etc? I played with Cubans...vile language. Colombians...vile and dirty play to boot. And please...dont give me that garbage. Things said in the heat of the game are only better concealed away from the game.

I am not and have not said any of it is excusable or wasnt over the top, only that it is fairly commonplace. Anyone out there doesnt think so...you simply havent a clue. Furthermore...it isnt going to change with a few rule changes. Look at the process of making it to the pros. A comp league standout will often get recruited to play for certain high schools. Quality high school players get recruited to play at college and some of the top tier players get special treatment. A job you dont have to show up at, classes...meh...dont worry about classes. Here...sign this lease. Boy, it sure is lucky you managed to save all that money raking leaves when you were a kid. Oh...and lets not forget the coaches along the way.

Richie Incognito is simply not all that different from a large number of professional athletes. This is all just faux outrage. Why...I NEVER! Can you just IMAGINE? Harumph haRUMPH HARUMPH!!!

Intimidating your teammates is no way to have a successful team. The guy is an idiot plain and simple.

Chris...all you have to do (if you are interested in anything more than the cause of anti-bullying) is look at the Miami Dolphins locker room and how they have responded to this whole situation. Incognito may indeed be a jerk. Funny though...his coaches went to HIM as a leader and asked him to toughen Martin up. His teammates have rallied around HIM, not Martin. Other players in the league have supported him as well.

There have been other complaints about this guy in the past.

If this was Incognito's first incident, I'd say fine him, punish the Coach and let it go. But this guy? All the time he's in trouble - been released from teams over his temper and everything else. Cut him loose. Playing for the NFL is not a right - it's a privilege, and one that he's abused.

His anger issues are completely offset by the fact that he is a proven leader (elected to such on the Dolphins by his peers) and a Pro Bowl caliber guard.

That's why I said if he was released today, he'd have a job within a week.

Doubtful, but they may not ask him to "toughen up" rookies anymore.
