I think Reagan brought it to the center right, Bush the first turn it back to center left, Clinton went back to the center while Bush the second and Obama went left with it with no center. My opinion.
This Reform Party member thinks it is high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first and their political party further down the line. But for way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

We're 20 years behind most of Europe and Canada socially, so center-right far as that goes. Economics, well, income inequality has soared with little to no safety net, so i have to go with far right.

Why would you write your congressman to demand higher taxes? You can just pay more voluntarily.
Why would you write your congressman to demand less services? All you have to do is decline to receive those services.

Lots of people find reason to write their congressman to lower their tax bill or to receive some type of government service. Consistent deficits and a growing national debt is the cost of democracy. It looks weird but it is superior to tyranny. A well intentioned tyrant could wipe out the national debt with 10-20 years. With democracy things will continue to go this way. It's FU but not FUBAR.
