It helps that she's running where she runs. You don't get elected in an ultra-liberal district by being something other than ultra-liberal.

Indeed. In terms of slime I'd tip my vote to Pelosi because she is smart enough to deceive her way to re-election again and again. She learned much of her skill at slime bucketry from her father.

Rand Paul and Cruz are simply too stupid.

Obama on Democrat side. Christie on Republican.

Pelosi doesn't have to deceive anyone to get re-elected. Her district is 80% democratic. When one gets into any leadership positions of the two parties, it seems a safe district is always drawn for them.

Cruz's recent act of mega-dumbassery makes him the most recent mega-stupid, innit? How could he not be? But he is new at being stupid on a national level, as is Rand Paul, who is dumber than a bag of frogs.

I cannot stand Pelosi, but, much to the detriment of the country, she has been smart enough to do something Cruz and Rand Paul will never accomplish and that is to remain in office for decades.

That's all very interesting, but the question isn't who is most dumb, stupid or smart. The question is who is most dishonest.

I was hard-pressed to choose between Pelosi, Reid and Obama...but I went with Obama for two reasons:

1. Pelosi and Reid are Legislators. They are not leaders. Most people expect legislators to lie...Pelosi and Reid just give them what they want.

2. Obama is the President. He is "supposed" to be a leader...even if he is not very good at it. Most people expect their leader to tell the truth...Obama only gives them lies.

Obama is most dishonest.

All politicians are dishonest. You knew that, right? Rand Paul and Cruz are too stupid to be as dishonest as Pelosi.

You can only vote for one and it would be nice if it came with an explanation.

Definitely Boehner. If he's not dishonest then he's gutless. He knows policies and priorities trumpeted by his caucus are dumb or wrong, but he goes out into those press conferences putting a spin on them anyway. You might say it's an old school methodology of doing one thing and saying another, but it's kind of outdated at this point in time.

majority says Obama

Most on the right pick the left. Most on the left pick the right. Most in the center pick both.

Didn't see that one coming.

All of them. Every single politician out there is a lying slug because our political system requires it of them. Our system inherently corrupts everyone it touches if they want to remain in office. It won't be changed until there is a fundamental correction made in our political machine.

I voted for harry reid, instead of president Obama, because I can see / hear Obama's "ticks" when he lies on TV. Harry reid lies without even the slightest twitch, He may be pathological.

Tie between Cruz and Pelosi. I would explain, but I like to think that both are obvious.

You'll know where the partisan ideologues are when they say "well why did you say ____", but the other choice is fine.

What did Cruz say that was a lie?

The statement "dishonest politician" is an example of a redundancy.

It was a hard choice because I had to pick only one. My choice was Obama because the buck stops with him. But I can think of a dozen reasons to vote for Biden, Reid or Pelosi as well. As far as the GOP, I have a burr up my arse when it comes to McConnell. He is such a whining, no backbone, been in Washington way too long, disappointment. And that goes for several GOP Senators that I can no longer tell the difference between them and moderate Democrats that are lock and step with the Republican elites.

Some of the choices are outrageous and were posted by a very bias OP.

Let us do this as honestly as possible:

Obama, 46% true or mostly true, 27% half true, 26% false or mostly false and 2% pants on fire (on 495 ruled comments on Politifact)

Biden, 42% true or mostly true, 26% half true, 27% false or mostly false and 5% pants on fire (on 65 ruled comments on Politifact)

Boehner, 33% true or mostly true, 15% half true, 50% false or mostly false and 3% pants on fire (on 61 ruled comments on Politifact)

McConnell, he has made too few comments that were rated on Politifact (only 15 statements) of which about half was honest and half was dishonest but statistically too insignificant to count either way so here it is all down to your personal opinion ;)

Pelosi, she has made too few comments that were rated on Politifact (only 22 statements) of which about half was honest and half was dishonest but statistically too insignificant to count either way so here it is all down to your personal opinion ;)

Reid, he has made too few comments that were rated on Politifact (only 17 statements) of which about half was honest and half was dishonest but statistically too insignificant to count either way so here it is all down to your opinion ;)

The too few rated stipulation (under 25 comments rated, so 24 or under) also goes for:

Rand Paul, Jeb Bush, Bobby Jindal, Mike Pence, Cory Booker, Brian Schweitzer, Howard Dean, Janet Napolitano, Kathleen Sebelius, Elizabeth Warren, John Huntsman, Martin O'Malley, Deval Patrick, Mark Warner, Steve King and Allen West.

But there are a few left:

Hillary Clinton, 46% true or mostly true, 25% half true, 26% false or mostly false and 2% pants on fire (on 87 ruled comments on Politifact)

Christie, 38% true or mostly true, 27% half true, 27% false or mostly false and 7% pants on fire (on 81 ruled comments on Politifact)

Ted Cruz, 16% true or mostly true, 16% half true, 52% false or mostly false and 16% pants on fire (on 25 ruled comments on Politifact)

Wasserman Schultz, 44% true or mostly true, 19% half true, 32% false or mostly false and 6% pants on fire (on 32 ruled comments on Politifact)

Michele Bachmann, 15% true or mostly true, 10% half true, 48% false or mostly false and 27% pants on fire (on 60 ruled comments on Politifact)

Scott Walker, 22% true or mostly true, 22% half true, 48% false or mostly false and 8% pants on fire (on 77 ruled comments on Politifact)

John Kasich, 52% true or mostly true, 18% half true, 26% false or mostly false and 4% pants on fire (on 50 ruled comments on Politifact)

Rick Perry, 27% true or mostly true, 25% half true, 37% false or mostly false and 10% pants on fire (on 142 ruled comments on Politifact)

Santorum, 20% true or mostly true, 25% half true, 44% false or mostly false and 10% pants on fire (on 61 ruled comments on Politifact)

So my vote is going to go to Michele Bachman as the most dishonest politician with 48% of her statements being ruled as mostly false or false and 27% pants on fire false. Ted Cruz not far behind and is second in this race with 52% of his statements being ruled mostly false or false and 16% pants on fire false.

The most honest was republican John Kasich with 52% of his statements being ruled true or mostly true with Obama and Hillary Clinton coming second there with both 46% of their statements being rules true or mostly true.

Where the hell is Hillary?

She would be other LOL, but she is not really dishonest so she will never be the top dog in the most dishonest politician race.

Write-in vote for Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

You can only vote for one and it would be nice if it came with an explanation.

These are always the types of poll that should be titled: "Do you vote for Democrats or Republicans?"

there are several on this list I should have listed, but I wanted to be balanced:

some of them don't qualify for either
