I don't know what "lending institutions" you or your friends deal with, but honestly I've never heard such "horror stories".

I do read the news and I see plenty of stories of muggings that happen at atm's.

I have also never heard of anyone being able to walk into their bank and report that hours after removing cash from their account, they were robbed at gun point of all the money, and then the bank says, no problem, we'll just give you more cash. How much were you robbed of?

If I lose my wallet or card, I can have my credit/debit card "turned off" and inactivated.

If I have cash in my wallet.......gone. Forever.

Like I said, I heard stories about the Debit cards so I won't have one. I do carry credit cards and a small amount of cash.
This Reform Party member thinks it is high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first and their political party further down the line. But for way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

The amount of truth in this post is overwhelming. Thank you.

since they have an insurance policy on it just like the credit card/debt card and credit cards they offer theres no difference for MY finical institute.

I guess it was my personal indebtedness and unwillingness to understand or take ownership that made me ask my CU these questions and read the contracts/agreements so that i understand them and know the fact that me using a thier card is no different than thier other cards when it comes to fraud security/protections.

you tell a cute story though, thanks, ill keep doing what im doing and be factually protected just like if i used their credit card. Its weird you seem so angry.
Yes I am, because there seems to be an unending parade of idiots like you who believe they are able to metaphorically drink and drive without a seat belt ...

.... but then complain to everyone else when they get royally screwed.

like i said, cute story, keep being mad while i keep living in reality where the fact remains your post was wrong.

Re: How do you pay - cash or card?

Isn't this a simple matter of asking your bank or lending institution how they deal with stolen debit cards or numbers?

Talk to your bank. Don't listen to stories from people.

Actually talk to your bank and ask questions. Specifically about fears of debit card fraud and how you'd be protected.

    Doesn't that make more sense?

Most CC surveillance systems nowadays are internet based. I can be sitting in my condo in Florida watching what's going on in my store in Oregon. As has been shown, anything on the internet can and will be traced. If the government wants to get into your CC feed the barely there firewall blocking outside intrusion isn't going to stop them.

If that isn't enough, the government as was shown in the video I provided and the link is doggedly determined to set up a society of snitches.

Also, banks record the serial numbers of cash. The money those banks send out to ATM's or to businesses or are out of their drawers are on file. Their money counting machines have this capability.

That's okay, the fact is if I had a debit card I would be nervous as all get out and I wouldn't use it. It would be locked in my safe and do me no good to have it. So why have one in the first place. I have what I am comfortable with. To me that is all that matters.
