I refuse to shop at Wal-Mart or buy Apple products. I cannot think of a reason not to hate Apple.

Hmph. I can't say no, but is a relatively minor factor. I stopped drinking Blue Moon after I learned it was made by the Coors Brothers, but I never really liked Blue Moon and the Coors Brothers as a business don't have any redeeming attributes that would let me overlook their support of right-wing think tanks and lobbying groups whose influence over Washington I dislike.

In contrast, I'm not boycotting Hobby Lobby because they are acting out over having to cover contraception because to some extent I consider their frustration valid.

Hobby lobby, I don't know how they trained that many employees to treat customers like crap but they did. Also not impressed with the owners attitude about really anything so we just don't do any business there.

I'm an avid fan of Office Depot. I will not go to Office Max (although Office Depot has bought most if not all Office Max stores and closing them). The reason I go there is primarily the customer service. They train their associates to be helpful, respectful and just plain nice. Every time I ever went into an Office Max, regardless of where I was in the country, it was like the same asshole employees had just transferred to where ever I was. Office Depot, no matter where I was in the country, seemed to have the exact same great attitude in their employees.

Staples? Not too bad, but not as good.

They were the first major electronics company to audit for conflict minerals among their suppliers.

    ... I don't like Apple either, though.

No, I almost never or never personally boycotted a business. I only think of it if I had a bad experience. Even then I am typically able to move beyond it if I get word things have changed.

You could probably get me to shop at Lucifer's Pawn Shop if Satan has what I'm looking for at the right price.

I kind of boycott Apple. I will get free stuff from their store, but otherwise I never buy any of their downloads or products. Their efforts to corner all digital entertainment with their IP rights on the technology. God I wish Bill Gates had let them go under instead of saving them when he had the chance.

Beyond, I avoid Exxon but that is more for reasons not strictly political, and that is about it.

Our OD did not survive. Their folks were as bad as our OM employees. About the only time I go to OM now is whenever they are having one of those insane loss leader sales. I have multiple businesses and have cards in a lot of my employees names (with their consent). I soak their butt's whenever I get the chance. Otherwise I don't because they are constantly trying to upsell you on overpriced warranties. It is a $20 clock, no I do not need a warranty, geez.

For our harder to get stuff we use a local owned store that delivers for free and has convenience accounts for businesses. For general stuff other than paper, I often just use Walmart as it is a lot cheaper. For paper, we order it online from Reliable because they deliver to the lobby and who the hell wants to lug around 12 cases of legal paper.

I shop at Wal-Mart all the time. But around 30 years ago at a McDonalds, they refused to put lettuce on a hamburger for the wife and I haven't been back to a McDonald's since. I don't know if that is a boycott or just not going back because of bad service. the only other thing I can think of is I will never go see a jane Fonda movie. But since she hasn't made any movies in over a couple of hundred years, it is no big thing either.
This Reform Party member thinks it is high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first and their political party further down the line. But for way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.
