Re: Do you boycott particular businesses?

I will avoid / boycott a business for all of the reasons in the poll

Political/Social: One of the newspapers I use to read/subscribe became such a "rag" paper. Its political/social lean in articles were no longer unbiased, but leaned way to far away from my views.
Treatment/Other; any business that treats me bad, I will no longer support. this is the main reason I will avoid a business

It's too bad that their beliefs suck. I don't go to Chik-fil-a because I don't like fast food chicken. I also don't go to KFC or El Pollo Loco. I don't go to Hobby Lobby because the closest one to me is 30 miles and I can get anything they have closer.
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide the world that cannot be achieved more rationally through entirely secular means.

And I am sure they think your beliefs suck.

    That's their prerogative, of course.

I general do not boycott over social issues. For example, many friends of mine boycott Chick-fil-A over their religious stances. I do not (though I don't think their food is orgasmic like many others seem to think). I figure that if I look hard enough that I can fine something in every business that offends me, then I'd be left with no place to go.

I general DO boycott over repeated instances of shoddy customer service and/or crappy policies. If you treat ME like crap, I'm going to stop going there. For example, I liked the merchandise and prices at Burlington Coat Factory, but hated their return policies. I rarely return anything, but still want the option when necessary, and don't like the feeling of that I'm somehow being unfair. You either stand behind your merchandise, or you don't. Hence, I stopped shopping there.
I boycott over treatment, primarily. I have boycotted Amazon (which a bitch to do these days, let me tell you) due to a long history of employee mistreatment, and corporate bullying of their partner companies. I have boycotted Walmart for similar reasons.

I will try to avoid certain companies for some other issues, but may not necessarily completely boycott them if practicality is just too big of a problem. I would certainly like to only support companies who have ethical sourcing and openly share as much, but sometimes that is just not financially feasible for me. I do what I can, where I can.

You demand tolerance, yet give none.
Against gay rights for strictly religious reasons is bigotry.

Oh well, too bad. You are not making any inroads with the religious of the world by calling them names.

Jekyll Island Club Hotel's shrimp and grits was orgasmic to me.

I know many religious people who agree that gays should have the right to marry, i know many on here and many in my personal life. I'm a Christian and i agree gays should have the right to marry, no matter what my religion tells/or doesnt tell me. You cannot deny rights because of religion.

Me, too, Dem. My bible says "Judge not, lest ye be judged."
