because it was just as much to show the public who where the republicans rinos who were not willing to fight to save them from the train wreck
the biggest problem the republican party is there are to many big government democrats in it. it is the main reason I left the party
And not enough John Birch lunatics? Got it.

Well, you have to realize what 'compromise' is to the Tea Party. It's "give us everything we want".
One of our republicans here explained that to me. You can't expect Republicans to compromise in their core ideals, which sounds almost reasonable. But you notice that a core ideal is anything they might get asked to compromise on..

Did you miss this whole situation? The potential for disaster far outweighed the potential damage from obamacare. And Republicans where just as complicit in the shutdown as democrats.
The amusing thing about all this is watching conservatives complain about things being shut down during a shutdown they were a major playing in creating, and when the unemployment numbers come in for the month inflated by all those government workers that they helped put out of work, those conservatives will blame Obama for that too.
I guess that proves I'm not a conservative. I was cheering for the shutdown.
Because not every politician wants to see their constuituents suffer just to put down the opposing party.
Eh, I'm sure you're right that some, very few imo, politicians genuinely about their constituents. But I think most couldn't care less about the average American. Most only care about who's donating big money, and power.

No, just the Tea Party wants that. Some of those clowns actually want the U.S. to default on the debt limit. Of course, they don't teach economics at Jefferson Davis Junior College, so maybe that's why.
You haven't a clue what the tea party wants and you've demonstrated you'll say and do anything as long as it forwards your extreme bias.
Lets count our chickens before they hatch. A deal has been reached, and the only possible place it might fail is in the house, but it will most likely make it through with some moderate republican votes. So who won? Not in terms of the effects of the bill, but which side got more of what they wanted, got the better deal from the compromise?
