If you believe Obamacare will be a failure, why are the Republicans trying so hard to end it now? Why wouldn't they just let it happen and pickup the pieces of the Democratic party? The Republicans are afraid Obamacare will be a huge success just like Medicare is now.

Leave it to a liberal to wreck an entire economy for political leverage and an "I told you so" moment.

I don't know who won, but I can tell you who lost. The Republicans now have fractured into two irreconcilable factions. They are the big loser in all of this. And they achieved nothing except earning the contempt of everybody except the Tea Party Loons. Way to go guys! With enemies like you, who needs friends?

Because not every politician wants to see their constuituents suffer just to put down the opposing party.

No, just the Tea Party wants that. Some of those clowns actually want the U.S. to default on the debt limit. Of course, they don't teach economics at Jefferson Davis Junior College, so maybe that's why.

Did you miss this whole situation? The potential for disaster far outweighed the potential damage from obamacare. And Republicans where just as complicit in the shutdown as democrats.

The amusing thing about all this is watching conservatives complain about things being shut down during a shutdown they were a major playing in creating, and when the unemployment numbers come in for the month inflated by all those government workers that they helped put out of work, those conservatives will blame Obama for that too.

Well, you have to realize what 'compromise' is to the Tea Party. It's "give us everything we want".

the biggest problem the republican party is there are to many big government democrats in it. it is the main reason I left the party

They didn't play a 'major role' in the shutdown. They were the sole reason for the shutdown with their stupid idea that they could role back Obamacare - a concept that was doomed from the start.
