It's a "band-aid on a bullet wound" victory. You slowed the bleeding, but the gush continues.

If a 90 day fix is your version of "flawless victory", then yeah - Dem's pulled a Mortal Kombat on the GOP.

    Re: So Who Won?

The big loss was that Obamacare remained untouched. The longer a program is in place, the chance for ending it evaporates and in the future, rather than any end or change, we will see lies claiming fixes for it, when the nightmare will simply continue.

If you are a middle income family or a young person, you have lost big time. Your purpose in Democrat political life is now to support Mexican immigrants and all of the other dependents who use Obamacare and cannot/refuse to pay for it. Obamacare money will be taken from your family to support the medical care and maintenance of these people, which will buy Democrat votes forever.

So, with what we know now, did republicans or democrats get a better deal on the compromise?
they score card will be tallied in the 2014 elections
while you liberals where so busy trying to win a game of checkers the conservative republicans where just making the first couple of moves in a year long game of chess

    Re: So Who Won?

I don't think there are any "winners" here. However, there are clear losers. The GOP tanked their credibility with independents and moderates...but even moreso, the Teabaggers pretty much destroyed themselves as having any power and/or credibility. I suspect after this the more sane elements of the GOP are going to begin kicking the baggers to the curb. You know when even Senator Lee's numbers are dropping in Utah.....you are screwed.

    Re: So Who Won?

No one did. This is all nothing more than an attempt to call a draw and save face. The pundits will be out saying "Oh, this shows the compromise of the President and the Dems", the GOP will say, "Ooh, look look, we DO have a spine, but there was nothing we can do, the grown ups in our party prevented us from going with the sensible solutions, which is, as you know whatever Obama and Reid say, because we are gutless infiltrators of the Republican Party who snack on corporate monies while we feed the two-headed beast that is Big Gov/Big Biz"

and in three months they'll do the whole god damn thing all over again.
