You think echoing the Leftist propaganda machine is "exposing" yourself?

I can not even find the talk radio site your getting fooled by. Even the Right Wing puppet sites disagree with you.
This site has the same info, yet it is only a Right Wing mouthpiece:

WSJ Poll: Republican Party Badly Damaged By Shutdown - Alan Colmes Radio Show

Fox News Poll Finds Disapproval Of GOP Skyrocketing After They Shut Down Government

There was nothing wrong with the first 4 random links I gave you. Nothing biased about the polls or the information.
The American people who have any degree of concern or any degree of exposure to fact all know what is happening, and THAT is your problem.

When Faux News is willing to report negative news about the GOP... you know it is REALLY BAD.

Because Bush gets it. For all their differences, former Presidents understand the pressures of the office like no one else can. Compare his public comments on Obama to Cheney's or Rumsfeld's. He's been downright sympathetic.

I imagine him being a startling persona to interrupt this impasse because he's kind of a common enemy to each side. By pointing out how dumb this situation is and how it never happened to him might jolt some ideologues.
This is actually a very good point and very insightful. It may even turn into one of those "an enemy of my enemy is my friend" things ie the TP (who don't like Bush) and the Libs (who really don't like Bush) would come together in a mutual denouncement of his involvement.

Nothing wrong, except it's a falsehood to claim that Obama's poll numbers are going up, since the shutdown.

How do you think Bush would persuade Obama to negotiate?

Remember what he said to McCain at one of their meetings?

He said he won the election so get over it, or something like that.

I am sure he would have the same attitude towards Bush.

There's a long 200 year tradition in America, when a President leaves office he's suppose to stay out of the public limelight, out of public politics, never comment publicly on who's in the White House and just keeps his mouth shut.

Of the 44 Presidents this nation has had, 43 have upheld that tradition. Teddy Roosevelt and Jimmy Carter have walked the line but Clinton needs to raise his standards and get a life and hook up with a Fox News babe.

Carter has not stayed out of anything.

He comments on every issue out there and some rag actually prints what he says.

No. He's pretty much irrelevant in today's political spectrum.

I wouldn't say irrelevant since he is still being blamed for all wrongs inthe Obama administration.

I concur.

As I said, Carter walked the line and has stepped over the line more than a few times.

But Clinton has ignored the line and the tradition of all other Presidents. The guy has no American class at all.

The biggest fear America should have, what if Obama doesn't go into exile in 2017 ?

You have to remember, Jimmy Carter has been living under a cloud during the past three past decades as the worse President in modern times.

You may have also observed that Carter statrted showing a smile in 2009 and it got bigger every year knowing that Obama was just not the worse President in America's history but America's nightmare.

But when Obama was given a second chance to redeam himself in Novemeber of 2012, Carter went back to being a grumpy failed liberal.

This is a hillarious question. I wish I had something insightful to say about it. I do appreciate the question though.

When I read the title I thought the question would be if Bush was President right now would he be negotiating where Obama is not.

Here's a hypothetical: if Bush were to come out of hiding and announce his support for re-opening the gov't and raising the debt ceiling, would that have any effect?

Or do Dems and Repubs equally loathe him and it wouldn't make a difference?

Would they be serving alcohol at the mediation?

Bush is too moderate for the Tea Party faction to listen to. It would be like talking to a wall. On the flipside, I don't think any Dem is going to listen to Bush. Therefore we have gotten nowhere.

I think they would serve Billy Beer to cover another administration.

Now there's idea worthy of consideration - President Jimmy Carter might be a good choice to mediate the impasse.

Why do you think Carter could mediate anything?

Who would listen to him?

He is a very bright and honorable man. You may be too young to remember Carter's success with Israel and Egypt at Camp David. In truth, I would not expect tea baggers to listen to him or anyone else for that matter.

No I am not too Young, but he is not the same as he was then, and I doubt he had much to do with the end result.

Why would the democrats listen to him, especially Obama? I am sure Obama would take it as an insult that somebody would even try to be an adult in this matter.

When Bush left office, he said he was out of politics and he would not be commenting on Washington and his successor in the Oval Office. He is a man of his word, and he should be respected for keeping it. Unlike Clinton and Carter, and I'm sure Obama when he's gone, the Bush men have been loathe to criticize or play the game of former Presidents saying what they'd do. The job is hard enough without some know-it-all in the wings commenting on it. Bush suffered from the insufferable Clinton and Carter commenting on his every move and he swore he'd never do the same no matter who got elected after him. I say, good on him and God bless him for it.

To those who don't drink the BushII kool-aid, the other presidents' didn't leave office tanking our economy within a curly hair of duplicating 1929, leave a debacle in the desert, and a completely dysfunctional government.

It is easy for him to keep his word as no one wants to hear any of them.

Rummy and Chumly discovered that- anyone hear them opine on the current sad state of affairs- they both at one time were quite talkative...

He didn't forswear comment because of the slings and arrows he suffered from men who know the weight of the Oval Office... he fore swore it because he knows his hubris led him into a debacle of huge proportions. His obsession with the desert sands and faith in some economic 'invisible hand' kept him from acting at the first signs of a collapsing economy.

But who knows, maybe like Carter, in 20-30 years we will forget the misery, the dead soldiers, the pancaked economy and he can speak without people openly snickering.

I'd always heard God looks out for fools and Englishmen- all I can say for sure is BushII doesn't have an English accent... :2wave:

Not to be uncharitable, but I'm guessing you're pretty much in God's graces after that load of crap.

GAWD and I made a deal a long time ago.... SHE said I have already been in hell, I get a pass (dunno how you are making it through though, ain't heard you speak ;) )

As far as crap goes, Dubya left town and NO ONE but comics and political pundits were sad to see him go. His own party hasn't invited him back for anything since.

they speak volumes in their collective silence... :2razz:
