Where does the GOP have the least grasp on reality?

My vote went for trickle down economics since the effects are so devestating to the entire nation and its people far more than many of the other things on the list. The idea that you can craft policies and programs to benefit the rich and piss on everybody else and call it rain is the cause of so much of our problems going back several decades. And unlike some issues like global warming where there actually are sensible republicans, they almost all seem to subscribe to taking care of the rich before everybody else.

Yep, wealth just trickled up which is evident looking at the Gini Index.

You seem to like odd locations. But the Anemoi were known to be capricious.
Just out of spite, I'm not gonna Google that.

I don't think the GOP as a platform opposes evolution, so I would have to say the areas they are the most wrong are 'consequences of gay marriage' and 'the drug war', both of which are defined in their platform.

Both of those are based almost entirely on their jesus beliefs and not even remotely on facts or reality. If you believed them, if we let gay marriage happen, people will legally be raping children by 2015.

What does the war on inanimate substances have to do with Jesus?

You are putting all republicans in the same basket. Not all republicans put their religion into everything when it comes to politics. Most truly conservative republicans know when an issue is political or when its religious.

I think the GOP has made its defining principles known. They are pro-Christian, anti-immigration, pro-life, anti-drug, anti-taxes, pro-traditional marriage. Any Republican who veers from any of those positions has to explain themselves. The only difference between the establishment and Tea Party wings is a matter of intensity and tactics.

Saying not all Republicans are the same is technically true but in general is kind of a dodge.

HOw Does Senator Collins and Governor Christie fit into your pigeon holing? My GOP senator is pro gay rights. Do you claim all democrats have to be anti Christian, Pro illegal immigration, anti life, pro drug, pro taxes, and anti traditional marriage or explain themselves?

The choices are out of touch.

Like I said, watch those few examples plead their cases to the GOP majority over the next few years.

I would put it a bit differently.

Democrats are the party of massive, national government.
Establishment Republicans are the party of a somewhat smaller, but still massive, national government.
Constitutional Conservatives are the party of the private sector.

Gay marriage and it isn't even close IMO.
