Huntsman 2016?

Huntsman 2016?

Yes, it's very preliminary, and a lot can happen between now and then, but if you had to venture a guess, what do you think of Jon Huntsman's chances for gaining the Republican nomination for President in 2016? Do you think he made enough of a name for himself to be honestly considered by enough people next time?
If you claim sexual harassment to be wrong, yet you defend anyone on your side for any reason,
then you are a hypocrite and everything you say on the matter is just babble.

Extremely small chance of winning, but I'd support him 100% if he ran.
There should be Instant Runoff Voting

I think he'll have a better showing, and will be big enough to be taken seriously in debates and such, but I don't see him winning it.

Unfortunately. He's still my guy at the moment.

I'd love to see him get the nod, but I can't see it happening.

Re: Huntsman 2016?

The tea party and such will never allow it to happen.

After both 2008/2012 the right had opportunities to regroup and all but dump the fringe that is ruining their party. They seem to be digging in.

I would like to see Huntsman having a prayer ( ) but it just ain't gonnna happen.

Look at the last election....they "settled" on Romney. Look at the folks they really had passion for Perry ?Santorum? 999? Bachmann? Newt?
Out of that group, Newt was the most level headed, but of course totally unelectable based on, well, his history.

The right still has no focus except to be anti-Obama.

Look at what happened with Cruz. His pseudo philabuster ? What a great opportunity to say "FU" to Obamacare and give his own ideas for reform.

Most reasonable people in this country realize that the health care system in this country has been broken for decades. So Cruz had opportunity to give his ideas and focus for reform with definable concrete ideas and plans. Instead, we got yet another Republican saying FU to Obama.

At some point a Republican has to acknowledge a problem and have real solutions. But my guess is that based on history many will have no trust that they will actually give a rats ass about how "the little people" got their health care.

Perhaps Huntsman is that man. He certainly is not a teavangelical which is a plus.

Heh. Unfortunately, this is probably the basic truth.

He has absolutely no chance of winning in the republican party.

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.... John Rogers

Re: Huntsman 2016?

Zero chance. The Republican party today is too full of wacko right-wingers....never going to happen. The only shot a moderate like Huntsman would ever have is if the teabaggers revolt and leave the party to form their own. Other than that...ain't ever going to happen.
Its been several weeks since the Vegas shooting. Its it still "Too Early" or can we start having the conversation about finally doing something about these mass shootings???

Re: Huntsman 2016?

Out of all the republican candidates, huntsman seemed the most appropiate and the most logical. Ron paul had a fanbase, but not the stature.
