$12k/year is hardly pennies. You had him, you pay for him

I'm sorry, but you, personally, are not paying $12K a year for my son's health care. Next time, read carefully what I wrote.

That, and do you have hundreds of thousands of dollars on hand, since even a moderately-serious heath issue can cost that much? No? Neither do I. So what happens - if I have to sacrifice all I have in order to pay for his health care (which I would do if I had to), I'd be shutting down my business, and my employees would suddenly out of a job. My wife and I would become wards of the state at least for a while, and we'd certainly lose our home.

BUT if he has health insurance, THEN we wouldn't be wards of the state, and our employees wouldn't lose their jobs...and instead of being a drain on our nation's tax revenue (i.e. Welfare, section 8 housing, etc.), we - and our employees - would continue paying out thousands of dollars in taxes every year.

Sure, you hate the thought that yeah, many hands make light work - but this is why ALL other first-world democracies spend about half what we already do on health care for our citizens...and most of them get better results i.e. longer life expectancies.

really, are you saying people are too stupid to pump gas, work in restaurants, and do farm labor while in school?

If they can - and if there's a job available - they do. If you'd actually go and talk to those who are in such situations - which is something conservatives almost NEVER do - you'd find out that the vast majority of them would LOVE to have such jobs. Some are leeches, yes - but the vast majority of them are people just like you and me who had a run of truly bad luck.

But you won't talk to them...because talking to the ex-cons and the sick and the prostitutes and the poor - like Jesus did - is something conservatives believe is beneath them.

spoke to one this morning, a nurse practitioner that was cut due to expenses. She was cut last week and was working for my florist today. Wow, how long did that take?

Like Canada where you die waiting on surgery?

But see that's just not entirely true. 33 States had/have high risk pools to cover those with pre-existing conditions prior to PPACA. There is typically some wait period prior to eligibility but coverage IS AVAILIBLE. I know this to be fact as it is how my wife got insured.

That's 33 states - not 50 states - and even then I'd lay odds that they had lifetime caps and lots of other exceptions, too.

Um, hate to tell you, but a nurse practitioner doesn't count as an ex-con, sick, prostitute, or poor. But in any case, thanks to Obamacare, even though she lost her job - and even if she couldn't have found another job - she'd still be eligible for health insurance. Of course, if she got sick you'd rather she just go ahead and die, but most of us would want her to have access to health care even though she's down on her luck.

That is not true at all - in Canada, if your life is in danger and you need surgery right away in order to live, you get that surgery right away - it's called 'triage'. We do the same thing - if to a lesser extent - here.

So please stop posting outright falsehoods.

Ex con, prostitute? hmm what CHOICES did they make?

Riiiiight. Sorry if I'm not eager to believe everything you say...

...especially given that under the pre-Obamacare system here in America, instead of waiting weeks or months for a surgery, the insurance company could just tell you "NO, you're not going to get that surgery - you had chickenpox 20 years ago that you didn't tell us about." That, or they'd just say, "NO, we're not going to pay for your surgery because it goes over the lifetime cap in your policy."

That's what most conservatives conveniently ignore - pre-Obamacare, there WERE 'death panels'...and they were run by the private health insurance industry who would decide whether you could have the treatment that you needed in order to live.

If you'd actually TALK to them and ask them about their stories, you'd often find that the assumptions you make while sitting in your ivory tower...are flat wrong. Jesus had no problem talking to them - He understood. Why can't you? In fact, according to the Bible, who had an easier time getting into Heaven? A thief or a rich man?

more lies from the liberal propaganda machine, apparently liberal character is pathetic

Who gives a **** what Jesus said to them, I don't. If it was a good thing we would all be prositutes or in some cases now, whores for Obama.

You're right, which is why I qualified with 'not entirely'. You proclaimed folks with pre-existing conditions COULDN'T get insurance...see?

Your welcome to prove this (the link I provided should be helpful) else it is mere speculation...of questionable value...thank you for this. ;)
