Does Obama want a government shut down?

Democrats would gain the most from a shutdown. Obama, not so much.

As much as I hope it doesn't come down to it, I think many Republicans need a reality check in the worst possible manner. Nothing would please me more than seeing the Tea Partiers smacked down and the establishment being able to take in some control again. To me the Tea Partiers are just right-wing variants of the hippies. They can't stand the establishment, and go to extraordinary lengths to create upheaval out of some induced haze. Instead of drugs it's some moron's interpretation about the founding generation. Same difference, really.

We should deal with it like we dealt with the hippies: crush dissent, make the machine work again by making the public like the machine.

My girl from North Dakota didn't let you down.
As a stage 4 cancer survivor, she delivered a forceful defense of ACA BEFORE the election.
With all the old-timers in ND, ACA actually helped her.
Repubs may have this "Akin" problem in LA and AK also.

In my 1 Oct Senate blog, I switched AK back into the Dem hold. Begich seems to be doing quite well there. LA, is a tough one, it in my opinion depends on whom the GOP nominates. You are correct, an Akin or Mourdock here could give Landreau new life just like in Missouri with McCaskill. She had no business winning with only a 39% likability rating, but given Akin's 32%, she did. Missouri is a classic example of the two party system failure where over 60% of the voters want neither, but one has to win.

I predict there will not be a Government shutdown.

Well....your predictions are almost always wrong...but this time you are correct. Your fellow Republicans know that it is political suicide for them. Polls are once again showing that Americans by and large see through their political gamesmanship. You guys lose yet again with your theatrics.

I don't know where you get all these outrageous statements but whatever.

Take a look at the polls. By and large every major poll out there says they would hold the GOP responsible for shutting down the government. This political gamesmanship by the tea baggers is going to cost the GOP yet again. Do they ever learn?

another person on the left who has no clue on what part of the Government shuts it down Hint, it not Senator Cruz.

Sorry, but if congress passes legislation that contains a poison pill, they get the blame. If the CR is straight forward (no riders, no extraneous provisions and the president vetoes it, its on him). Vetoing the poison pill is not the same thing as vetoing the CR. You know that. This whole thread is nothing but a disingenuous fail.

So there will be one.

Got it.

It's quite amazing how accurate you are when we flip the statement around.

you sound like your daddy DD. let me refresh your memory......I got 2 presidential elections right, 2 mid terms right. I missed 2 Presidential elections.

Only in the eyes of a Obama lover and far out lefty.

How many football predictions have you entirely blew?
How many legislative predictions have you entirely blew?
How many claims the Democrats are doomed have you entirely blew?
How many general elections have you blew?

Pretty much every single one.

No, in the eyes of most sane people. If you put a poison pill (whatever the poison pill) in a piece of legislation, it will be voted down or vetoed. Why not just put a rider in that Obama must shoot himself?

This whole thread is a disingenuous fail.
