Who are the Biggest Winners and Losers in the Syria Crisis?

The US and Russia just hammered out an agreement that, when agreed to by Syria, could eliminate its chemical weapons stockpile by this time next year. Carrying that plan through to a satisfactory conclusion will be a challenge, though.

Who are the biggest winners and who are the biggest losers?

Weird. I don't see the Syrian people on the list. Seems like those not getting gassed would be the biggest winners.

Obama is the biggest loser. This whole exercise revealed to the world Obama is a lighter than a featherweight.

There are no winners, but I guess you have to give the tip of the hat to Putin... who was, and still is playing chess while Obama is reading the manual, trying to figure out how to play checkers.

Until they get shelled by conventional weapons and by terrorists. They should really be included as biggest losers.

Syrian people are the biggest winners. Now thousands are not killed by tomahawks.
USA citizens are next for not having wasted billions and billions of dollars on another Don Quixote misadventure.
Rebels/terrorists are next because they will be the only side with poison gas.

No possible way to make a selection on this poll.
The "Crisis" is the civil war combined with the assistance both sides are getting from outside of the country. In the face of this... the use of chemical agents is extremely minor in comparison.
There are no winners or losers yet.
One could say that the Syrian people are the losers, but if you asked a Syrian, that Syrian might tell you he is glad to have the chance to fight, which in turn would make him a winner, even if he loses... because he got what he wanted... a chance.

The United States never stood to win anything. So we can not possibly be winners, regardless. But we did avoid becoming losers. However, Some Americans wanted to be involved in the Syrian War, potentially a war with Iran, and possibly even Russia. So if that is what those Americans wanted, then I suppose to them, we did not avoid becoming losers. To them, we lost already by way of non action.

Russia Loses if Assad loses due to financial and and global strategic aspects. And they win if Assad wins. But no one has won yet.

Winning and Losing is a completely relative viewpoint.
In order to answer the poll, we'd have to know who's vantage point we are viewing it from. Then we'd have to wait until the crisis is actually over. Get back to me in another 2 or 3 years.

None of the above. Nobody wins, and the biggest losers are the people who will get killed and maimed by yet another pointless and unjustifiable war.
I love the NSA. It's like having a secret fan-base you will never see, but they're there, watching everything you write and it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside knowing that I may be some person's only form of unconstitutional entertainment one night.

I think in Syria everyone loses because no matter what it is a slaughter there.

The only entity that matters is the people of Syria, and unless the rebels are stopped and also Assad dethroned, they are all on the losing side.
