    Anyway, that's a different discussion.
Same reason there's francophobes but no germanophobes or americaphobes - it doesn't roll off the tongue.

I voted maybe. Only because as long as we have troops in the middle east I think we should do whatever needed to keep them as safe as possible. I don't personally think its right to burn any books( especially religious books), but I also feel it's free speech to do so. But until we have all of our troops out of the area I def think we should highly discourage the act.

I am not a religious person but I don't see much use in taking a giant crap on someones religious beliefs either.

You stated he had been arrested then asked about free speech. If you are unfamiliar with the case as I was, that could create a very incorrect impression. SO no, not a non sequitor. It does in fact follow.

I'm already on record with this. Burning books, flags, even religious books is protected speech under the First Amendment.

Absolutely not. So long as it isn't in violation of any public safety laws, people should be able to do what they wish with their property, including burning it. Anyone who over-reacts due to burning of books, no matter what those books are, has a problem.
There is nothing demonstrably true that religion can provide the world that cannot be achieved more rationally through entirely secular means.

If legislation were proposed making it illegal to burn or destroy the Quran (at least publicly) would you support it?

Incidentally, the first time I asked this, the "no" vote won overwhelmingly. I'm curious if the results will be largely the same.

    Poll on the way.
    Absolutely not.

Well.. you certainly can't suppress an idea by burning books.

Set a bonfire for all I care.

Is it right? No, I don't advocate that sort of hate, but Americans have the right to burn whatever book they want. It's very simple.

discourage is one thing - outright ban is another.

    A ban is unacceptable.
