Would you vote for him for president....Why or why not?

dont know alot about him but after doing a quick search the answer is absolutely no i would not vote for him for president.
Thats not a judgement of him as a man but him and people like him could never get my vote for president because they simply dont understand america nor do they respect the rights, freedoms, liberties and human rights of others with different view points.

No thanks, never

I don't have enough information on his political platform to make a decision on the matter.

Oh except for the Conservative part someone like Obama?

And did you not complain about Obamas political and foreign policy experience in '08

I had issues with Obama for that then. Putting an R in front of someone's name doesn't magically abandon my principles

Well that is gunna leave a mark...

Hey look NP, I am doing your work for you: Ben Carson on the Issues

Guy is all over the place. He is not a small government conservative, he is not a social conservative, he is not a liberal in either place, but his positions tend to be extreme where he has them. He supports gun control, so he will not get a republican nominee. He is opposed to deportation of illegal immigrants, but supports government covering catastrophic medical costs. He would have no chance as a conservative. Supports a flat tax which would kill his support with liberals.

And then there is bat**** insane stuff...

At least he has positions on the issues, thus the ability to lead. The last two clowns running for POTUS were for all three sides of most issues yet somewhat opposed to them as well. The problem that we have is that each party's primary emphasizes the fringes, thus we get both party's candidates (after the primary) trying to swing back to the "popular" center without actually admitting/denying that their positions have "evolved" somewhat. Our only hope is to make major changes in our selection of congress critters if we hope to be goverened without a clueless POTUS taking over ever more power.

Well, first off mostly he does not have a stance, and in the case of most of the candidates, they did have records to run on and base off. He has not. And the "swing back to the center" has been around my entire lifetime. I remember Carter/Reagan as my first election I followed and guess what...Reagan did just that in his campaign.

I been around here for 8 years my friend and I have found out you have to consider the source.
That's really it. At first I was going to research this guy, but then I decided that all I really needed to do was read the opinion of a liberal. The stronger the hate, the more I like the guy.

Horribly inexperienced, can find little actual useful information about his views regarding actual significant governmental issues, and pretty much just parrots stereotypical hyper social conservative views that promote big government...on what little I've been able to turn up on him, not a chance unless the other candidate was somehow even worse

Probably because Dr. Carson has no intention of ever running for political office, especially POTUS. Reagan led, Carter micro-managed.

Obama is not a leader or even much of an organizer. Many say that he "leads from behind" but that is simply saying that he takes credit for whatever he can and denies doing/causing whatever else happened that he disliked.

So basically you don't care about stances on issues, principles, ideology, or views...you just care I'd the other side dislikes him. An amazingly intelligent barometer to measure whether a candidate is worthwhile and an enlightening insight into your principles and values

Nope. Terrific surgeon with cartoonish political views.

doesnt just have anti-abotion beliefs he wants laws that banned abortion: NO
doesnt just have anti-gay beliefs he wants laws that discriminating and infringe on the rights and equalit of gay americans: NO (not to mention he is a bigot)
doesnt just have the belief he doesn't want people to own semi-automatic guns if they are around other people (towns/cities)

tree strikes he is out and those are big strikes

I only know his positions on abortion and homosexuality. Both of his positions are absurd. He also has ZERO experience in government, LOL. So, that's a no.

Also, literally the only reason white conservatives want him to run is because he's black and conservative. It's so transparent. It reminds me of the time McCain's campaign pulled Palin out of their ass as a disrespectful, transparent attempt to get disillusioned female Clinton voters.

I don't care at this point as he's not even a contender. There's plenty of time for research later. Liberal hate is the only barometer I need right now.

I didn't even know the dude was black until some racist on this thread mentioned it.

"After the 9/11 crisis, if the president had seized the moment and declared that we would become petroleum independent within the next 10 years, business, industry, academia, and everyone else would have been foursquare behind him, and we would have been much further ahead in the fight against terrorism than we are today.

  1. The moderate Arab states would have been terrified about losing their economic base and would most probably have turned over Osama bin Laden.

How would they have turned over Bin Laden when they didn't have him? Second, we are becoming quite oil sufficient and oil prices are still high. Market is too big for us to drop the prices. US demand is still globally priced in. To actually do this, we'd either need to nationalize and isolate or entirely stop using oil. Neither of which Carson seems to have talked about.

An enormous number of jobs would likely have been created in the process of switching over to a new energy source, and Wall Street would have been booming.

And what source is that? Magic? How would it arrive? Magic?

Guy is a loon when it comes to basic commodities.

Yeah, that was the point. As I read that my jaw dropped. It is easy to see why he is popular with the tea party, simplistic solutions for simple minds, no concern about facts or the real world. Plus socially conservative, which is what actually defines the Tea Party(despite their claims otherwise).

Ummm...Who?

Never heard of the guy which means he isn't Presidential material. I did write-in votes for Mickey Mouse twice though...does that count? :)

strange-------people dont seem to have a problem with a person being elected to the senate ,which have no political experience, ....which the founders stated that the senate was the upper house of congress, meant for people with political experience.

yet, people think someone running for president must have political experience..........strange.
