I think we oughta let projections play out before giving anyone credit. Those jokers have been horribly wrong before.

C's - squandered opportunities and failed to deliver on expectations
D's - clearly contributed to the decline of the country, such as economically and diplomatically as happened under Bush II.
F - country goes into civil war
Under this standard, clearly a solid D. He a Bush....peas in a pod.

Fair enough, but it's important to note that in recent years they have been overly pessimistic. The deficit in the current FY thus far is well within range of the 642 billion figure. 60 plus percent deficit reduction in a mere four years following a crisis of that magnitude would undoubtedly be viewed as a signature accomplishment.

The same could be posted about either party...
I don't often change my signature, but this was just too over the top to let anyone forget with what this country is up against...

Spending out of control and then cutting back is hardly magic.

I gave him an F because I've heard his golf game is slightly improving.

C+, slightly better than the C I gave his first two terms.

Obama is little more than Bush's 3rd and 4th term. At least Bush III didn't get us involved in another Asian/Middle East land war. Yet.

That is a caricature of what actually occurred. Spending and deficit levels were slated to increase in 2009 due to massive dips in employment and growth regardless of the White House Occupant, as evidenced by the projections released the month he took office. What was a surprise is the both the severity of the downturn and the pace at which we've reduced the deficit in the time following. The CBO prior to this year did not expect us to reach deficits of this magnitude (projected), till the year 2017.
