If Kennedy had not been killed, he would have been considered a mediocre president at best

he had some good points-such as supporting the creation of the special forces he gave good speeches. He had a gorgeous beloved first lady. He was a brave man who saved a crew member's life in combat.

Okay that it! I am forced to sick the "Spanish Inquisition" on you for your foul and nefarious blasphemy!!

Sorry I had to take such drastic action but perhaps now you will know better and hold JFK in the proper reverence!

LOL and I will retaliate with

YES,

its them!!

Good point on the Space Shuttle. It is time for the next generation rockets. Only with the whole world collaborating can we afford it. All the great minds must be together. Our Space accomplishments bring us together and we advance technologically like no other except war.
The Space Shuttle was the most advanced piece of machinery to ever exit the atmosphere. Not only could it carry 5 to 7 crew members, but it could carry up to 53,600 pounds of payload. That's the equivalent of a fully loaded Canada-air Regional Jet OR 7.5 Chevy Suburbans. It was instrumental in the production of 2 space stations, the Hubble telescope, numerous missions to the moon and countless scientific flights whose research led to disease treatments that might never have been discovered here on earth. Yes, what the Apollo astronauts did in their day was amazing, but it amounted to lighting a giant firecracker under their butt to see how far it could take you. The Shuttle represented space flight. It is still the greatest accomplishment in aviation.

Id say:

Reagan
Clinton
Both knew the most important roles of president...public confidence and effective cooperation with the opposition party.
Then
Bush Sr
Nixon
All others are at about par or worse. Ford doesnt really deserve to be on the list, nor does Kennedy. Kennedy is romanticized due to Camelot and his assassination, but he made some stupid decisions.

Since JFK wasn't elected and all! Or was that Daley tossing voter machines into Lake Michigan? May have led to Nixon's paranoia. I suppose being the only POTUS who was murdered since 1900 doesn't qualify him either.

I see Reagan is trailing..... Clinton and Kennedy are tied. Time to text a few Reagan supporters since anyone can vote in this poll. The fix is in. Sorta like the way the left likes to operate elections.

Which is why the repups are 4 for 4 in the electoral college when losing the popular vote while the Dems are 0 for 0. Too bad the election fix talk is just that, talkkk.

It's easy breezy to get the popular vote for a Democrat when every major city in the country is a Democrat stronghold and where most fraud occurs. Have you ever heard of the term "spigot cities". They are the cities often in purple states that are Democrat strongholds that tend to pump up the vote for their candidate to turn that state a Purdy shade of blue.

All I hear is a lot of empty talk about fraud. Americans get that this is a solution looking for a problem. Jury is still out on whether it will backfire on repups again in 2014. The GOP hasn't developed a positive message yet, except for Christie and NOOT.

Nothing to think twice about this. It was Bill Clinton, period. He is leading now for one vote (i.e., mine), but Reagan and Kennedy are not too far behind.

My best answer is to go back to Coburn's detailed outline of the federal budget in July of 2011. He didn't put it out until after the 2010 election. However, he had previously stated he would serve only 2 Senate terms.

Many "liberal" departments were started under Nixon/Ford.

True enough - the EPA, as an example, had/has a definite, important role. However, when used as a political tool to control business and to push an ideological agenda, it becomes a "liberal" department. Nixon would disband the EPA if he saw what his creation turned into.

Okay! I'm lettin you guys know RIGHT NOW that a vote for Johnson is a vote for Kennedy. So JFK is still in the lead.
:fyi:

Kennedy had good optics and a good game plan, but looking at history,If you forget Vietnam (Which is kind of hard for me to do.), overall I believe that Johnson did more for the USA.

Clinton was the beneficiary of good timing, like when Monica happened to wander by while Hillary was away.

I will whatever you want to call it - good timing .... good luck .... good fortune ....good leadership.... whatever. In the end its still America with two presidential terms of peace and prosperity.

and when he got shot he lived ;)

hah yeah JFK my posterior, The failed Bay of Pigs invasion nearly caused a nooclear exchange during the Cuban missile crisis.

Remember that JFK wanted to bring down the CIA and the FED Reserve. RFK was a pain in the ass of organized crime.

It's a bit early to judge some of these Presidents, but among them Ronald Reagan clearly stands out as the best.

I think it was Ronald Regan because he had good economic policies and he did most of the stuff that led to the end of the Cold War and the fall of the USSR.

I tend to agree, though Bush senior did handle the transition quite well.

You may want to check the spelling of Reagan. Even Cheney stated that 'Reagan proved that deficits didn't matter". We now have a 17 trillion Total Accumulated Debt that proves different.

Admittedly Reagan might have done better had he cut spending. The argument would be stronger, however, for the Presidents after winning of the Cold War. After that point the US could paid back the debt.

Reagan. He made you feel good about being an American. He made you want to be better and to help make the country better.

On air force base schools starting in 1958. It was Math and everything else taught like Math. On this, I would say the appetite of a certain group of cost-cutters. Hopefully CERN and ITER are worth it. I would like to see Fusion rockets before I leave this Earth.

and if we had the same commitment we had in the early days, you just might.

Reagan had next to nothing to do with the collapse of the USSR. That was all Gorbachev.
