His cabinet is where all the works of his administration came from, Gipper was effectively just the "Okay-guy".
I think Reagan had only few to do with the Fall of the Iron Curtain. I'd give the many East Bloc people going on the streets to protest the credit foremost, then the Soviet leadership of Gorbachev who had the right ideals and readiness to end the Cold War.

Reagan's arms race just helped making Gorbachev realize that the USSR wouldn't be able to compete on the long run. And yeah, he held a nice speech at the Berlin Wall, like Obama in Berlin in 2008. That's it. Reagan had only very few to do with it.

I wouldn't be as harsh as you - but I do believe there are too many people working in government doing jobs that government has no business doing.

How did that threaten the USA? Was it worth losing 4,500 American soldiers lives and who knows how many trillions of dollars over? I don't think so.

Citation so I can "fact check" please.

You, Reagan and PATCO. He hated Hollywood unions also. Didn't mind acting his way through WW II with John Wayne. Why so little love for government/public sector, like they're worse than the plague. Overtime, Per Diem and part-time workers saves no money

Go to the frickin library. Keep researching history. Pay attention every time the CIA makes a dump of declassified information. Pay a little more attention to Eisenhower. And most of all avoid revisionist history.

See, you're just not getting me. I have no problem with government workers, per se, there's just too damn many of them doing things that governments aren't supposed to be doing. Why is there a Department of Education at the federal level, as an example, and why does it have a budget? I'm sure there are many fine people working in government - get them out of government.

The lazy man acts like something that needs verification is "common knowledge." You make a claim of fact, it's up to you to back it up. Otherwise your claim is meaningless.
