You can't work and go to college while living at home?

Hell, if your parents are around during the day, you can kill 3 birds with one stone, essentially wiping child care costs to 0.

A subsidy never makes something more affordable. It causes it to continue to be bought and sold at an unaffordable price.

For this reason, essentially, I opposed the idea of subsidizing it. I am not necessarily opposed to any and all government intervention with respect to child welfare, because that is somewhat unavoidable. I might even be more open to discussing some way for the government to provide outlays for the entire service rather than shuffle out cash directly to people for this.

Needs are irrelevant to this discussion. The discussion is about for what federal and state governments should subsidize, not identifying what some people allegedly need.

You took down the world economy in the process. We're trying to prevent the economy form going down with it.

Well that those things don't exist around you would have to commute for hours upon hours. I'm also not living at home I'd rather provide for myself and have a wife who provides a second income. It might work for some but not anyone who has any sort of ambition.

So you want a subsidy for having kids you can't afford, yet you'd "rather provide for yourself".

You have no idea how badly I want to kick you in the nuts right now.

But you want other people to pay for your kids day care.
The worlds economy is not our doing by the way.
Our housing market did not make Greece, France, Italy go damn near belly up.

Ambition means you are not letting anything get in the way of your goals.
You are making excuses because your government want pay out for your kids day care.
YOU and your wife had the kids? Correct? How is it anyone elses job to pay for them?

I'd rather have a career than be unemployed, what this is about is the fact that something even those parents who are successful in their careers and are making more money than average still can't afford daycare and something needs to be done about it.
