Okay, how about cosmetic surgery? Should that be subsidized? Say I wanted to shave a little extra off my nose to make it more round.

Being more presentable could help me get a job, therefore I think it should be subsidized.

Ha! I'm down with helping future generations but jeez...there's got to be some limit. The majority of my state taxes goes to funding school for 13 years including early start programs.

There are SOME sacrifices parents need to make based on having a child.

    That's why.
You pay for their education because it benefits you. You gain an advantage from living in a country with a well educated populace.

"It takes a village" will resonate with a lot of people, because it will become another "freebie" that they will no longer have to pay for. And they may not understand what that means, since it's become almost commonplace for some to expect the government to take care of them and their families these days! Sad...

Never. We're expected to just shut up and pay for the mistakes of breeders who can't even afford to support themselves, let alone the 3-6 children they squeeze out because they never heard of this new thing called pulling out.
I love the NSA. It's like having a secret fan-base you will never see, but they're there, watching everything you write and it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside knowing that I may be some person's only form of unconstitutional entertainment one night.

I agree, and I agree. I support the Pell Grant and some other methods of helping to increase education, as it creates a net positive for society. Encouraging people to have kids they can't afford, however, I can't get on board with.

Nope, it shouldn't. Physicists should be read, not seen, anyways (just a guess based on your info).

No, I pay for your kids' education because I'm forced to by law.

I would gladly stop paying for it if I could.

I paid for your education too and you can't even figure out a way to raise your kids without help from me. With the rate you're going I'm going to end up paying for your grand children too. When exactly do I see any benefit from this arrangement?

Don't know if someone had this idea but what about having
Welfare receipients do some baby sitting? The govt seems to
have enough help that someone could supervise at the city hall.

I'm thinking that workfare might help with some of our problems.

Here is SoCal, the LA Unified School District, and some local cities, provide meals, 7 days a week to kids. Now I understand nobody wants to see anyone starve, but it's getting to the point where the parents are only needed to provide the child, and from that point on, the rest will be handled by the government.

There is something very, very warped about that.
