What if the rule was Pray to Allah, would you still feel it was just a cultural thing? What if the rule was you can kiss anyone, as long as it's the same sex? You all good with that? It's the same difference.
None of those are the rules though. Just don't perform any homosexual acts out in public and there shouldn't be a problem.
Why would they be arrested and deported as long as they aren't making out in public. I don't see why there is a need for a boycott at all. Just don't show that you're gay in public while you're in Russia. I don't think Russia cares what we think anyway.
It doesn't matter whether they care, it matters that we do.
If I were an Olympic athlete from the United States, and I was told I wasn't welcome to compete as an American because of a government boycott, the first thing I'd do is ask the Russian government if they had any openings.
