IN your opinion which has no merit because you have no standing to sacrifice what others have worked for

If not, then say your piece about what policy we should take but don't mention that the athletes should be just be happy and willingly give up on their dream. It is not yours to sacrifice.
It's not theirs either. We go as a Country in case you hadn't noticed.

BFD. its the olympic team that should make the decision not a bunch of pimps or hand wringing ninnies

you don't fund the team, you have no standing

and why are you so hot and bothered about the Russian rule?

We as a country have a standing. They are between what they long for, have worked and sacrificed for, and what we as a country stand for. That's also known as being between a rock and a hard place.

If it was Coke or Koch flying their colors, I couldn't care less, but it isn't now is it? This is about nations, not supporters.

uh again you don't count in this issue. YOu cannot even prove a boycott would change the law

might make things worse for gays in Russia

It is theirs but they represent our country. It is most certainly not the President''s and it wasn't Carter's nor is it Obama's call. Who participates and how is up to the Olympic committee.

Change the laws? Who knows, but it's not about them now, it's about us, what we stand for. If they wish to play Catholic Dark Ages, so be it but that's not who we are and if we stay home, we are making that moral stand loud and clear. That may change nothing at all, and it doesn't matter either. You either stand up for what's right or wrong, or you don't. It's not about more than that.

They define the athletes, we send them in our name, or in this case, we don't.
