Not necessarily the sweet spot though, OBL was giving orders from Pakistan yet it's clear Yemen and Africa are hot spots.

My point was we have seen the trouble hitting an embacy does in regards to blaming Obama so this time they are going a different route and closing them. My idea would be to close them permanently, we don't need embacies in political and militant hot spots.

However, we can go back and forth on the what-ifs, but we do know what happens when an embacy gets hit.

Only time will tell if any of the other what-ifs actually happen.

Well none can say for certain that anything will go down. Not even AQ. Which that would be on the What Ifs. Course we are now stuck in this exact situation now as to What If.

Did you happen to hear Obama on Letterman last night TNE? If you caught any of it or see any of it. Let me know if that sounds like a Leader to you.

Its one thing to come with straight out talking points. Another to sit there and give the Impression of someone who has no Idea on what to do.

Obama got reelected saying how he had decimated Al Qaeda and they were "on the run". Now we evacuate embassies all over the Arab world and leave with our tail between our legs as Al Qaeda stages prison breaks all over the Arab world freeing there most hardened terrorist by the hundreds. Who's on the run again?

I stopped reading after your first sentence, because it was just more partisan bull****.

I think the U.S. should hardline EVERY single embacy to the teeth with security and weapons or close them down. Embacies are considered U.S. soil, we have the military and defenses in the U.S. against attacks. Why shouldn't embacies have the same.

Because they are in a foreign country. A far better option is simply to do away with embassies all together. They are an anachronism in this modern age of instant communication and merely serve as targets for those wishing us ill. Just make it clear to any American traveling to a foreign country that they are on their own if they get into trouble.

That's not surprising......"what", were you expecting that people would just all agree with whatever team Obama puts out as their excuse and that's that. Nothing else to say Right? Team Obama has spoken. Turn out the lights the Party is taking a break......as we know with Democrats the Party is never over.

That's it.....the Grand Pubah has spoken.

I honestly can't believe someone would be so stupid as to make one of the poll options "America is on the run."

Losing side? What do they have to lose? They can do this for eternity, since it is an Eternal Struggle. It's the West that wants peace and quiet, so it can go back to making money and turning the world into one big parking lot.

Yes, far better we all adopt the life style of the terrorists. Mud huts and caves.

I have consistantly criticized Obama as not being a good leader, so why would I watch him on Letterman. Yes, there are some things he does that I agree with such as closing the embacies (since we aren't going to arm them), but don't mistake that for me thinking he is a good president or leader.

I happen to think this country is screwed unless it gets off the Dem/Rep train.

"Oh" ..... haven't figure out who has control of the situation yet, huh?

Obviously you are not familiar with thecreator of the poll.

And onto the Anarchist/Libertarian train? No thanks. I leave that crap to mediocre authors.

We've ALWAYS been playing defense. What the hell do you think the Patriot Act, and TSA, and NSA surveillance is all about?

No worries, you have the Dem/Rep crap that is bankrupting this country.

Well I agree with you there.....once the decision was made by Team Obama not to Secure the Embassies. We are left with no other option as to dealing with the matter, in the way they have decided. Which was close down for Business. Close some until this Sat. Issue the Global Travel Alert and keep it on until the end of the Month. Giving AQ all kinds of timelines. Now with reduce staff too.

If i told you once i told you a Bazzillion times- don't exaggerate! ;)

ONE Embassy was evacuated, so the tail tucking crap is uncalled for. After Benghazi I'd think most Americans would rather we temporarily close 19 Embassies than have even one hair on an Ambassador's head be moved out of place.

It runs in cycles, al-Queera has been planning this for years and is attempting a TET style strike- what will be telling is how many attacks than can do on US facilities and at what cost as already those much criticized Drone strikes are attacking targets in Yemen which is the new hot bed.

The prison breaks are troubling but not any real indicator of al-Queera strength as much as Sunni/Shiite hatred. You did read where all the Shiite prisoners were killed in one of the breaks. Now 'all over the arab world' again- (you SURE love typing that) I read Libya, Iraq, and Pakistan and by far a bigger indicator of poor/corrupt government than strong al-Queera....

You might want to look up the word decimated- it doesn't mean defunct. :peace

BTW, I forgot to add more on this. I think it's incredibly unprofessional for any sitting president to appear on anything dealing with T.V. except formal functions and White House press. I think this whole "talk-show" or "partisan radio" is extremely of poor taste for the president to take part in no matter who the president is.

To me it makes the President look no more statesman like than someone on "American Idol". I guess that's what America has turned into, but it doesn't mean I have to like it.

Yes any.....Republican or Democrat.

I liked Eisenhower's Quote on it! ;)

No worries, you have the Dem/Rep crap that is bankrupting this country.

And you always have Loony Ayn Rand and the 'To hell with everybody else, I've got mine' philosophy that has great appeal for those with the intellect of a not terribly bright college freshman.

Maybe we let them go? What is the best way to bring them out if hiding? Let them think they are winning ;)

Consider how many we may have flipped. How many we may track? At any rate we know the players, the structure, and we have assets all over the world.

Let's see, noone I support has that attitude, but we have seen the "incredibly bright" Dem/Reps increase spending and the debt by how much? Oh yeah, so much more intelligent

It is difficult to make a distinction here because for every aggressive action we take, we are guaranteed a response, no matter how organized or unorganized.

No one, it's stagnate, which is the point. You cannot have infinity war if any one side wins. How else are we to funnel billions of dollars into the companies that support the Republocrats while using fear tactics to keep the People in line, expand powers of government against our rights and privacy, kill off thousands of Americans, and accomplish nothing for the people and everything for the betterment of the aristocracy?

Heya PG :2wave: .....Well when we take that one aggressive action.....and hit them in Every ME country and Africa All on the same day. All at the Same time.

I think you will then be able to make that distinction. ;)

My guess is the threat was against U.S. embacies as a whole, not specific ones. Therefore, any embacy is a target and since there is no way to harden all of them (the government simply won't do that) they should be closed as they are.

Tell me how would it look if Al-Q were to attack another embacy and inflict loss of lives again for the U.S.?

Question is, why are our Embassies so weakly guarded that a threat makes them close up shop, ESPECIALLY after what happened in Benghazi. Seems to me every embassy in the Arab sphere of influence should have been hardened immediately after that event. Apparently we have been caught with our pants down again.

This is where these sorts of analogies become ludicrous. 'Tail between our legs' what are you talking about? We obviously intercepted a severe threat and have acted accordingly. Should we have let a few embassies get blown up to show how bold we are? Moreover barring the deployment of troops to the countries in question we cannot exactly claim responsibility for the security of their prisons. I'm extremely critical of the President's foreign policy but I don't see how anyone could genuinely critique this reaction without knowing much more.

Tail between our legs is exactly what we did, we bugged out in the face of a superior force.
