What Kind Of Conservative are you?
A compassionate conservative with some strong libertarian leanings on many issues.

Well, tell me this, have you ever, in your life, walked in to a McDonald's and received a Big Mac that looked like this

I didn't think so...So much for advertising...

and you're still not explaining yourself on the map thing, maybe I need more coffee, but...

that sure looks good!

I am a conservationist, more or less (even if it means admitting that Teddy bloody Roosevelt had a couple of good ideas in his fat megalomaniac bully head).

Never was tempted to call myself "conservative" though. Maybe this is purely linguistic: in my native languages, "konserwa" is the canned stuff that is, technically speaking, edible - when you run out of all other options. Not all that different from the (civilized) conservatism in politics, I guess ;)

The Colonel had his bright moments...

Like said, and I should have clarified it before, usually most rank and file, outdoors types are conservationists, it was the Big Biz components I was referring to.

You trying to say conservatives are the spam of politics Cy? ;)

A mixture of sorts, but primarily domestic and policy neoconservative and influenced by the academic-oriented neoconservatives. For foreign policy, I mostly tend to lean toward real politik, but that does not mean interventionism does not influence me either.

I'm a Canadian conservative - our motto is keep the government out of our wallets and out of our bedrooms. The libertarian conservatism seems closest.

In the land of my birth, the (Stalinist) "conservatives" are uniformly nostalgic about the WWII-times unlimited supplies of tuszonka (Tuszonka). Never mind that the delicatessen had been actually Made in the USA, by them capitalist pigs, and supplied to the Soviets as a part of the war effort.

Fast-forward some sixty years, I see (not very noble of me) some poetic justice in this:

P.S. There are three double entendres on the label.

the 1/4 pounder used to be about the same size as a whopper

Ha! they suffer from Frightened Turtle Syndrome...

Of the options given, I'm a small-government conservative. I'm fiscally conservative, socially moderate.

< constitution strict constructionist= very limited constitutional government! Not seen since the 'War of Northern Aggression".

I'm not any kind of conservative. The free-market - which I subscribe to in its wildest, most absolutely uninhibited theoretical form - does not allow for the conservation of any temporal social arrangements. Just as the market must always "revolutionize the means of production", so too much it revolutionize the social context those means are situated in.

Which is why I hold "libertarian conservatives" in the blackest contempt. They desire to falsify the Heraclitean nature of kapital by shilling for a Parmenedean philosophy. Life is change (how it differs from the rocks, as the Airplane sang): the market is change incarnate.

Marx was absolutely correct: everything solid does melt into air. He was mistaken only in his view it would someday condense into a solid form again.

I'm a Christian Conservative. Our motto is keep the government out of our wallets and non-heterosexual preferences in the bedrooms.
