Re: Is Obama A Bully?

...<bunch of irrelevant blather snipped>...
Instead, instead of simply saying "No, it doesn't matter if they're all doing it, it is still wrong, I was just pointing out that Obama wasn't the Lone Ranger in all of this" What did you do? You tried to deflect your partisan behavior by trying to accuse me of something I clearly wasn't guilty of but which you -- With the evidence put out for God and Country to look upon, look upon and point their righteous finger of indignation -- most certainly are...

Now you're still trying to put words in my mouth by telling me what I should have said, according to what you wanted me to say! Plus, you got the thrill of calling me a "partisan", when I am an Independent who hates democrats and republicans equally, and the last person I wanted to see in the WH in 2008 was an unqualified empty suit with zero actual governing experience.

Alrighty, then. Lesson learned. You and I will not be having further, ah... discussions. Bye-bye! :lamo

Re: Is Obama A Bully?

It seems to me when it comes to the targeting of individuals for drone strikes, when it comes to countries of less stature, of less means, Obama is very cavalier in his handling of the situation. He has no problem flexing US might and never misses a chance to peacock in front of the press on how tough he is.

However, when faced with real opposition, say Russia, China, Iran..... He's a timid little dove.

So, where I come from we have a name for people who lord their strength over the weak who prey on easy targets but tuck tail to the strong or possibly formidable adversaries. What do we call them?

A Bully.

What say you?

Obama is a wimp that acquired power, a very dangerous combination.

Re: Is Obama A Bully?

He is a horrible POTUS, as was GWB before him.

He clearly has little regard for human life (double tap drone strikes). Or for basic human rights (Gitmo). Or for the Constitution (blanket spying of Americans, executing Americans without trial).

Not sure if he is a bully.

But he is definitely a dickhead and an incompetent POTUS.

Re: Is Obama A Bully?

I voted "maybe so" with a "But..." That means he is neither more nor less a "bully" than any of his predecessors in the Office of President.

So what’s your point?

???

That sounds pretty competent.

Oh, you think competent just means letting you do whatever you want, completely, and helping you out whenever you need it. Oh...yeah, he's not competent at that. Thankfully.

Ahhh, no.

I think a competent POTUS follows the Constitution at ALL times, runs a balanced budget at ALL times (except during a declared war against another country(s)), does not commit acts of war on a weekly basis (drone strikes on other countries are technical acts of war), helps those Americans who truly need help and not just want it AND stays the heck out of the economy's way and let's it run itself.

I should know better then to read people's posts who are on my ignore lists (like you) just because I am bored or curious.

Have a nice day.

You should get that ignore list problem worked out. It doesn't seem to be working. You'd hate to see the posts of someone you disagree with, but can't competently argue against.

Re: Is Obama A Bully?

Do the people worrying about Obama being a bully actually realize that he's a politician and that politics is about the exercise of power?

Or is this all your first day here?

This is a sadly common attitude among the American Left, I've found. Corruption, greed, and general nastiness are all just "A-okay" as far as they're concerned... Just so long as the person responsible for them happens to have a capital "D" next to their name on CSPAN.

Ted Kennedy? He had more mob connections than you can shake a stick at and very likely straight up murdered some poor girl early in his career just to get out of a bad relationship, yet the Left upholds him as being some kind of damn patron saint to this very day.

Mitt Romney, on the hand? He was demonized because (Horror of horrors! ) he happened to have fired a few people over the course of his thirty something year long career in business.

"Moral high ground," my ass...

Exercising power is neither corrupt nor greedy and as your post demonstrates, the right excels at general nastiness.

Is this your first day?

Using that power to attempt to silence political opponents and potential critics alike while simultaneously going out of one's way to subvert the principles and boundaries of the office they were elected to in the first place (all of which the Obama Administration has been accused of over the course of this thread) is the very definition of "corrupt and greedy."

I'm also glad to see that you didn't even try to refute any of the points I raised. ;)

No, not my first day, and what does a bully do? He exercises his power over the weak and timid, those he knows he can easily defeat, but when faced with real opposition he's the coward of the county....

Sounds like Obama to me...

Do people commenting on what people are worrying about actually take the time to read why they say what they said or do they all just make knee-jerk, reactionary comments because someone besmirched their immortal beloved?

Being accused of being greedy and corrupt is not the same as actually being greedy and corrupt.

And I won't be even trying to refute your accusations for two reasons:

1) I don't want to derail the thread. There are already plenty of threads about these delusional "scandals". If you want to know what I think of them, you can read some of those threads (which I'm happy to see you haven't participated in)

2) I'm a firm believer in the principle of "When an opponent digs themselves into a hole, don't hand them a shovel."

Ahh, "real" opposition.

I see you're very comfortable with the "No True Scotsman" fallacy

Re: Is Obama A Bully?

That's what you get when you vote bullies into office.

We should stop doing that. Instead, we should elect people who never act in our nation's interests. They should do whatever some two-bit nation tells us to do.

I disagree. Where are the statesmen? Point one out and I'll vote for him.

Except ya see, I'm not making late term distinctions, mine has been the same from the jump...

but since you mentioned it, you do strike me as one who's well acquainted with looking up a man's skirt... ;)

Your post makes no sense. What is a late term exception? We're not talking about abortions here

Well, first, I said distinction, not exception, pay attention! Second, failing to understand on your part doesn't mean lack of clarity on mine.

If you're gonna throw around terms you really should know how they're applied.

I see that even you can't explain what your own words mean :lamo
